NCAA basketball has a single National Champion over the majority of their history. Alabama is clearly not in the Top 4 in the SEC in March Madness play.

There are multiple programs in the SEC who have a Final Four or better in basketball. There's several teams that have more Sweet 16s and Elite Eights as well.
Alabama may have the 2nd most wins in conference, but they've been passed by more than a few SEC Basketball teams in the basketball category.

Coming close and not winning doesn't mean much.
Bamas 2014 football season was disappointment because we didn't win it all
all Texas cares about after 2009 season in football was beating rivals and winning big 12.

At least most people have heard of a Helm's Title before.
LSU has 4 Final Fours to Bama's 0.
LSU has 6 Elite Eights to Bama's 1.
LSU has 9 Sweet 16s to Bama's 8.

Spoken by a person who has never been to one?
I have been to at least a dozen Final Fours and I can assure you they mean something. Unlike football, which allowed multiple #1's in any given year, basketball has only 1 team that can be #1 at season's end. While not winning it all is a possibility, getting to the Final Four means you finished in the Top 4 of 64 (viewed as a grade in college the Final Four means you are in the top 6.25% of the class and a definite A student).

Why does Bama own lsu in all time head to head meetings? Alabama leads all time series by more than 30 games and they have played just about every year since the schools started playing basketball.
