I don't think he was CMU's offensive coordinator.

He was the head coach of a Central Michigan team that was pretty bad at scoring points. Now he is your OC. Congrats?

Our strength is defense, we don't need to score 40 points a game to have a chance of winning.

Maybe it will prove to be a solid hire. He could be a good OC. But it doesn't really have that big name splash that would strike fear on tRant

Damn, that is exactly what Bert wanted to do with this hire, strike fear into a message board.

Oh well, a swing and a miss.....

Ed Orgeron is the D-line coach at LSU now, but he did manage to win 3 SEC games at Ole Miss in his first two years on the job.

One more than Bert. Think before you post.

I guess we should have hired a coordinator that was fired from a job and then claimed it was a big time hire.

That coordinator went 28-21 as a HC, and had his defense ranked 20th, 5th, 15th and 19th. Yes, it was a big time hire. And no one had to wikipedia who the frick he was either, including the team's own fanbase.

He also went 10-13 his last two seasons. He caught lightening in a bottle one season to manage 11 wins. Outside of that, he was a blistering 17-19 overall.

Impressive, to say the least.

Florida had their first losing conference season in over 30 years thanks to him. Florida had their first overall losing season since 1979 thanks to him.

But hey, continue on with your sunshine pumping.

You can't spell 17-0 without 0-17.

I think the college football Gods cruelly allowed this to happen as a painful reminder of one of the longest SEC losing streaks ever.

You will have to explain to your grandkids why you rushed the field after beating LSU 17-0.
"Tell me grampa...did we win the SEC west? no litte Billy"
"Then why grampa, why did ya'll rush the field?"
"Well....little Billy....we were just overcome with emotion for ending an 0-17 losing streak in SEC play.
But why grampa...why? "

Muschamp proved he was not ready to be a HC. Anybody that thinks he is not an elite DC is a moron. Ten, TEN, top ten D's in twelve years shoves it up your fanny hole, with no lube, hard.

And Ellis wasn't prior to Muschamp?

I don't know one single person who has ever referred to Ellis Johnson as elite. He is a good DC, not great. People talk about Gus having a gimmicky O, but the truth is EJ has a gimmicky D. I haven't seen anybody jumping at the chance to hire EJ as their DC. That should answer your question.
