I think you need to go back to al.com.

I have a feeling you are in over your head here on the SEC Rant.

We ain't that great up front, but I believe we have done a good job with schemes and putting them in situations to be successful.

At one point Ingram led the nation in yards after contact.

PS FWIW I think Ben Tate is a one heck of a runningback.

I do not think Bama is uber talented upfront, but they are talented with great schemes and a downhill running, wear out your opponent style O. Perfect for a strong runner like Ingram or Tate. Plus Bama's D gives the offense so many opportunities to both get possessions and wear down the opponent with all the 3 and outs they force.

Bottom line is both Tate and Ingram are very good backs that have pretty close numbers this year (with Ingrams being a bit better after the last 2 weeks esp). Ingram is getting hyped for the heisman, and in all honesty Tate deserves a LOT more recognition than he has gotten. Not just for this year, but for what has turned into an AU carreer that ranks up their with some great backs.

Tate's obviously an amazing back.... that said, there's a big difference between cockiness and confidence. When you say things like what he said, and granted I only saw what was on TV, it comes off to me as insecure and cocky. I think he wants to be the best back, but he's worried someone is better.

Offensive line or not, Ingram is a badass.

I'm not going to get into that whole discussion of who is better, both are great backs that I'd be pleased to have on my team. Tate has really turned his career around after the shanking it took from the FrankNallEnsminger offense we had last season. His sophmore year he rushed for nearly 1k yards he was 980ish if memory serves me and had a few minor injuries that year that hurt him.

Tate will be a very solid back at the next level.

Confidence is one thing(and I do like confidence.) However, you DO NOT call out the best running back you will face all year and dare him to prove he is better. I would definitely not be happy about this if I were AU's Def. Coord. You don't think that Bama's D is gonna use this for bulletin board fodder also, then you are just crazy. I would be surprised if Tate breaks 50 yds against Bama now.

Hopefully Tate will not hurt Rolo or any other bama linebackers when he trucks a few of them. I actually see Arenas getting his bell rung when Tate comes around the corner a few times. I kinda hope he tried to go head to head with Tate once or twice.

Anyway, like I said, hopefully he doesn't give any of your players a concussion right before the Gators.

I see you thinking here and can't really disagree with you, but.....

Tate and McCalebb have 205 and 94 carries respectively. Ingram and Richardson have 194 and 91.

I think the main point should be that if their situations were swapped and Tate were the RB for a 10-0 team he would be getting plenty of respect.

Yep, I agree. And I am not really worried or upset about it. AU fans appreciate Tate and Bama may finally get their heisman winner this year. It's going to be a close vote it looks like.

Ingram is a sophmore.

just thought id throw that in there.

ingram always finds and hits the right hole, thats what separates him from other backs.

I think it'll be a true sham if he doesn't at least get invited to New York.

McCoy probably lost his against OU, but he is gaining steam and he'll play some crap team in the Big-12 championship game. There's a good chance he'll put up huge numbers against them.

I think there is a good chance the Heisman winner will be decided in the Georgia Dome. Keenum is very talented and fun to watch, but they've lost two games to CUSA teams. Give me a break.

Question if Alabama's offensive line is much better than Auburn's .... when is it going to improve? You have a very experienced group up front and have not gotten commitments from or signed many talented young offensive linemen. Dyer better recruit some offensive linemen.

Tate said "HE FEELS" like he is the best back in the state. No crime in that, he didn't say in the country or the world. Tate never said that anyone was not as good as him. Maybe a little arrogant but it doesn't warrant all of the shite that a lot of you piece of shite bammers are throwin at him.

I don't have any problem with what he said, but this argument you are trying to make doesn't make much sense.

I can't find an overall Division 1-A stat for yards after contact, would be interesting to look at, but I do know that going into the MSU game 55% of Ingram's yards were after contact, obviously that probably took a bit of a hit since he went 70 untouched but its still an impressive stat and dispels at least partly the product of the offensive line myth.
