Or those string of TEs from Georgia. Leonard Pope and Orson Charles among them.

This shouldn't matter if you are talking about college performance. Maybe say ALL-NFL for SEC guys in BCS Era if that's apart of your selection criteria.

What, the NFL doesn't take into account your college career when drafting someone? Sure it they do, thus it matters. If we were saying all pro teams - it shouldn't count. If we are saying evaluating college talent and production - it should count.

I think this team should be able to handle Ole Miss this year.

Marcus McNeil should definitely be there over Barrett Jones. I could also make an argument for Karlos Dansby, but it would be splitting hairs.

So who all on here would put LaRon Landry over Reggie Nelson?

Regardless of what some people think of Jones, how do you leave off a three time All-American who won both the Outland Trophy and Remington Trophy? I think you have a stronger argument for McNeil over Andre Smith.

Have no issue with Tebow or Cam ahead of JFF, those guys won rings and so far JFF has not.

I do think Luke Joekel deserves to be on the list though. 1st Team AA, Outland Trophy, 2nd Overall Pick in the NFL Draft. Not much better you can do that that as on OL.

Pretty much every OL on there did this. Excpet they were AA more than once

But that's only part of the equation. Plenty of guys have loads of potential that never get met until they enter into the NFL. Case and point- Brandon Jacobs.

He was at Auburn when Cadillac and Ronnie Brown were at Auburn, and he had a more productive NFL career than either.

Do you think any right-minded Auburn fan would put Brandon Jacobs over Cadillac and Ronnie on any All-Auburn or All-SEC team?

Or what about

Although I don't necessarily disagree, are awards the deciding factor? Some players are extremely decorated but may not be the best choice for this kind of thing.

Example: Manti Teo

Only because of injuries.

exactly, sometimes its the team you play on and not all just the production that wins you the award

Yep.

Chris Samuels won an Outland Trophy and was a two time All-American and top five pick.

Barrett Jones won an Outland Trophy and Remington Trophy and was a three time All-American. Was drafted in the 4th round.

Andre Smith won an Outland Trophy and was a two time All-American. Was a top ten pick.

Shawn Andrews was a two time All-American and won the Jacobs Blocking Trophy twice. Finalist for the Outland and Lombardi. Was a top 20 pick

Maurice Pouncey won the Remington Trophy and was named All-American once. He was a top 20 pick.

Other than Jones, who has yet to start his NFL career, all of those OL listed have had banner NFL careers. Even Andre Smith, who started off poorly, is now one of the best and highest paid RTs in the NFL. It seems to me those awards and accolades were justified.

Was Peterson really a better cornerback than Claiborne? All around player, no contest. But it would be a tough choice between the 2 strictly for DB
