"It should be the two best teams" = begging. 21-0 melt continues after 3 years 10 months and 30 days

Haha, reading comprehension isn't your strong suit, is it? We're talking about comparisons of schedules here. SEC teams schedule an FCS team, but they also schedule a power 5 opponent, and the league schedule is tougher. Big 12 teams schedule an FCS team, but they only get 3 OOC games because each team at the top gets to play all 3 of the shitty teams at the bottom. Try to keep up, OK?

Ironic considering you wrote that whole post to argue something that nobody was arguing.

They have a stronger schedule. Can you link to something other than your opinion that backs up that claim?

The schedules are probably pretty close to even the difference is in the way Oregon handled their schedule vs. alabama.

I'm not flaming and there is nothing to be upset about. You deserve to be in the top 4 and will have a chance to prove who is the best on the field.

I just don't see how you can rank Alabama ahead of Oregon based on how their performance so far this year.

Pretty much. If it was Texas or Oklahoma in the same scenario, there wouldn't be any question of not getting in

And here lies the biggest issue with the committee. As I said before, at the end of the day it's nothing more than a popularity contest.

The out of conference schedule was full fledged sissy. No other way to spin it.

What are you talking about? Briles said they had to play AT Buffalo on a short week. It was black out day at Buffalo and they had their largest crowd ever. Yes, tongue in cheek.

They've always acted like ignorant little brats. Screw them. I was hoping TCU would make it in so their fanbase would go david Koresh on eachother

I have no problems with Briles going to bat, but I have a problem with his false arguments:

1. The Big 12 has never been called the 2nd best conference to my knowledge (The Pac 12 has been)
2. Baylors win @ Oklahoma is not the best road win of the year by anyone in contention. Oregon @ UCLA, OSU @ MSU, Bama @ LSU are all better or equal
3. His whole "take names off the board and look at resumes" probably gets you to about the same place. Baylor has 2 Top 25 wins in TCU and Kansas State, both at home. OSU has 3 top 25 wins, 2 on the road and 1 neutral site.

Exactly. Briles got all weird with it.

Baylor has experience with covering up criminal activity. Remember the murder cover-up with their men's basketball team?

If it was Alabama, you bet your arse they'd be in that playoff. Baylor has a very good point. They are a CFB have-not and they just got fricked.

There's no real way around this.

I think it is more about the $$$. Ohio State is going to bring more viewers, fans, and hype than a medium-sized Baptist private school.

While they will never publicly admit it (and I have no way to prove it) the entire ranking controversy of the preceding weeks was a simple ploy to get people to watch games they otherwise would not watch.

Very few people would have tuned in to see K-State v. Baylor outside the Big 12 viewing audience. With the controversy it all of a sudden became engaging TV.

The committee was full of smart people who knew exactly what they were doing and they got a huge out with OSU winning 59-0.

He acted exactly the way that Saban was acting in 2011 BEFORE the BCS pairings. Alabama had only beaten 3 ranked opponents all year and finished 2nd in their division and 3rd in their conference and Saban was BEGGING for a do over all because they had the best lost, even though it was at home. It was sad

this is pure fiction from the fetid fever swamp that is the tiger rant

This is what I mean when I say popularity contest. The big names are always going to get the nod over the schools with smaller fan bases and shallower pockets.

Have you seen Baylor's OOC schedule?

I quit being a Baylor fan when they played that tall black guy on the girls' team and passed him off as female in order to win the NC.

By the committee's own rankings, Baylor had the two best wins of the top teams. Baylor beat #6 and #11. Ohio State beat #8 and #18. By what logic do you put tOSU ahead? Baylor also soundly beat Oklahoma twice on either side of it's Sugar Bowl victory over Alabama. And if Baylor isn't the Big12 champ, how'd they end up in the Cotton Bowl as the best team from the conference?

Have you seen Ohio State's conference? Indiana over Mizzou is about all I saw this season.
Michigan got killed by an average ND
State lost to a beat up Oregon
Ohio State lost at home to Va Tech
Nebraska had no business beating Mcneese

Very impressed with the way Ohio State was able to dominate with a 3rd QB, just not impressed with the league.

Art Briles was a bitch about it. Gary Patterson actually showed some class even though his team got screwed over worse. TCU was #3 in the penultimate rankings and were promptly moved down to #6 despite winning 55-3 on Saturday.

That would be great. Les does some strange things but he's one of the few that can defend a modern offense. Too bad ya'll don't have a coach like Briles who knows how to use all that offensive talent at LSU.
