To be fair, think of the melt from SEC fans had a 1-loss team not made the playoffs over a team who will be playing their 3rd string QB. Baylor or TCU deserved to be in over Ohio St.

That being said, they should be mad at their own conference. That co champion BS really hurt them IMO.

Baylor fans are a bunch of New Money bitches, it is known. They still whine like they are the pissing mat of the Big 12.

Yeah, TCU took it well and like actual champions when they got bumped 3 points. Baylor just turned into a bunch of raging pussies over it.

The whole "we play everyone" mantra about the Big 12 falls apart when you look at who "everybody" is. 3 teams with losing records...and TCU and Baylor, because they don't have divisional play, is guaranteed to play each one of them every year. By comparison, OSU only had two conference games vs. teams with losing records. So the 9th conference game kills their strength of schedule. Not having divisional play ensures that you get to play every shitty team in your conference...and there aren't enough good teams in the conference to compensate for a shitty OOC schedule...and Baylor failed to take care of that. In contrast, Alabama played zero SEC teams with losing schedules.

And this issue has its roots in Austin...and Waco, by extension. Texas treats aTm, Missouri, and Nebraska like poor stepchildren for long enough, so they leave the conference. If those teams were still there, there would have been a Big 12 championship game last weekend. And TCU and Baylor would have had Nebraska, Missouri, and aTm on their schedules. So they can blame Texas, and Baylor can blame themselves for following along. Granted, TCU came along afterwards.

Maybe but they should be 3rd so it's not that much of a stretch.

More Big 10 and SEC teams would have losing records if they didn't get to pad their stats with an extra game against Western Carolina or Kent State.

UA should be 3rd? I'll give you 2nd. But please explain how Oregon should be ranked ahead of Alabama.

Irrelevant. The Big 12 does that too. All of them play one game like that.

But you already knew that, didn't you?

edit: Actually, Ohio State didn't this year.

Look at their schedule. It's probably more difficult than bama's (it's at least even) and they dominated it.

bama was very fortunate to beat Ark and LSU and struggled big time with Miss St and AU at home.

Is this one of those cultural things we Yankees don't understand?

The lack of southern passion? Or is it northern stoicness?

Haha how is playing an extra OOC game (almost always against a cupcake) irrelevant?

Oh ok. They have a stronger schedule. Can you link to something other than your opinion that backs up that claim?

Haha, reading comprehension isn't your strong suit, is it? We're talking about comparisons of schedules here. SEC teams schedule an FCS team, but they also schedule a power 5 opponent, and the league schedule is tougher. Big 12 teams schedule an FCS team, but they only get 3 OOC games because each team at the top gets to play all 3 of the shitty teams at the bottom. Try to keep up, OK?

Pretty much. If it was Texas or Oklahoma in the same scenario, there wouldn't be any question of not getting in.

If it was Alabama, you bet your arse they'd be in that playoff.

Alabama consistently plays a competitive schedule. SOS was fourth this year. Much like Fl St got punished for barely winning over weak opponents, Baylor did not get the full benefit of running over the sisters of the poor.
