Word is that Fox is planning to open up the offense a lot more this year. We have a lot more depth than the past few years and should have some good guard play. Granted it was against Fort Valley State but in our exhibition game we were running up and down the court a lot.

that doesn't erase the fact that Ole Miss absolutely owns your teams arse, and looks at the Arkansas game as a slump buster that usually ends a losing streak we are so familiar with.

It kind of does. Arkansas has won 41 NCAAt games. Ole Miss has won 5. No one gives a shite about some regular season games you won in the Heath/Pel era

Mike has been recruiting his arse off, which was my big gripe about him going into last season. It is time to see what he can do. I would expect Arkansas to finish in the top 3 or so in the league. With the recruiting class that he brought in coupled with what Arkansas has coming back, should be around a 25 or so win team in the regular season.

Returnees
Moses Kingsley: SEC Pre Season POY
Dusty Hannahs: 16.5 ppg
Manuele Watkins
Trey Thompson
Anton Beard

Newcomers
Jaylen Barford: #1 JUCO in the nation
Daryl Macon: #3 JUCO in the nation
Arlando Cook: #6 JUCO in the nation
Dustin Thomas: Transfer from Colorado

They seem to be meshing well in the pre-season and we will see how they move forward starting tonight.

Mike just signed a top 15 class for this season with only 3 guys and currently has the #1 class in the nation right now for 2018.

Arkansas leads the all time series by 10 games

2-2 in the last four between the two.

Congrats on winning your Super Bowl of basketball. Arkansas has much bigger aspirations than just beating Ole Miss in a regular season game.

this would make sense if Arkansas had actually achieved more than Ole Miss since 2000. But Ole Miss has won more NCAA games, won way more SEC west division titles(has Arkansas won even one since 2000?)and continues to kick your arse with alarming regularity. aspire all you want.

Arkansas and Ole Miss have achieved the same thing sine 2000: nothing.

Only difference is you can apply that to Ole Miss's past and future too

Funny thing is the SEC doesn't have divisions anymore (as on Ole Miss fan you probably weren't aware) but if they did exist Arkansas would have won the west more recently than Ole Miss.

Not that it matters since the rafters at BWA dont have enough space left for division title banners

A&M, Arky, and Ole Miss will finish top 3 in the SEC West. Bama will make a push for top 3.

State should be pretty good.

Staters
PG - IJ Ready, SR - only SR on team but should be good enough. 4 year starter. Averaged 9 points and 4.6 assist last year
SG - Tyson Carter, FR - 4*, ranked #97
SF - Q Weatherspoon, SO - First Team All-SEC
PF - Mario Kegler, FR - 4*, ranked #52
C - Aric Holeman, SO - 4*, ranked #108

Bench:
PG - Lamar Peters, FR - 4*, #96
SG - Eli Write, FR - 4*, #80
SF - Xavian Stapleton, SO - transfer from La. Tech, averaged 7 points.
C - Schnider Heard, 4*, ranked #47
C - Abdul Ado, FR - 4*, ranked #119

That's a total of 8 4*s. Lots of talent but also lots of ?s. Young team.

I think LSU could surprise people this year, but I don't expect them to. I think Simmons could have messed with the team chemistry a bit, but as long as Johnny is our coach LSU will underperform.

This will be Mike Anderson's best team at Arkansas. They remind me of his elite 8 squad at Mizzou.

Agreed. I am hoping just to be a bubble team this year and challenge for SEC next year
