College baseball was fun as hell to watch until the new bats. Now its if you get behind 2 runs the game is basically over.

The fact that nearly half this conference averages a higher attendance in baseball than in basketball is impressive as hell.

Speaks volumes about the importance of that sport to this conference.

Like it or not, when referring to this conference you either have to call it the Big 3 or the Big 1.

I'm honestly not sure what being a UK fan has to do with no enjoying college baseball. You seem a little slow. Plenty of Kentucky fans enjoy college baseball. I'm simply not one of them. I don't enjoy softball either, and we have a good team.

College baseball wouldn't interest me if even Kentucky was in the CWS. Would I want them to win? Absolutely. It's just a boring game to me though.

The MLB is so much better that it's almost as if it isn't even the same game.

Couldnt be compeltely more opposite of this :lol

Although College baseball was better with the BESR bats before these BBCOR bats. MLB is just way too slow and boring to me. I follow the Braves, but just cant watch every game or close to it. The game goes way too slow and most of the time just not enough offense. As with any professional sport, the players are better, but the new BBCOR college baseball is pretty close to the style of play in MLB now, sans the much slower MLB speed which helps making college baseball more watchable to me.

Meh. It's all about what you enjoy. I enjoy the MLB far more. I can watch a college baseball game, but it's simply not as interesting to me as an MLB game.

Look at the percentage of capacity.

Attendance numbers and percentages have no relation to a sport's overall popularity.

It is related to how good the team is that year.

If 7 is half, wouldn't that make 6 'nearly half'?

Our basketball team was hot garbage last season and we still averaged 100% capacity. Alabama basketball wasn't much better and they had great numbers. Vandy wasn't good. They had great numbers as well, as did other schools.

I would love to see LSU get there. I think we're on that path now with our recent signing class and Jones' style of play.

Although not every team would have the reaction I expect, I'd wager that if you get stats for years where the school had been much better at one sport compared to the other, the stats would be reversed.

Take LSU. There was a time we were decent in basketball and not very good in baseball. I bet the stats would be reversed then.

All I'm saying is that I don't expect the overall conference wide popularity of the sport to be the defining factor. I fully expect it to be how good that team has been over the past few seasons.

I'll come back and eat crow if you prove me wrong.
