Why?

If I was a Mizzou fan, I'd be pissed over Howland.

Besides his style of play, all the off the court issues that plagued him at UCLA, you hire a coach who wasn't considered for any of the several lesser jobs that were open this past year, let alone the equal or better jobs...

Parrish was breaking down how no one leaves top 50 jobs anymore unless it is one of the blue bloods.

He said he counted 8 total guys that left. All of them, excluding Alford to UCLA and Buzz to Va Tech, left before they could get fired.

The possibility of a lot of big time jobs opening up is making guys stay where they are at.

He said if you are Greg Marshall why leave a top 15 ranked roster to go rebuild at Mizzou, unless they are throwing some monster number at you.

Mizzou must not be a top 50 job.

Guys haven't made "lateral" moves in basketball like you see in football for one simple reason, the tournament decides the champion. Its been that way for a long, long time.

Howland can coach some good defense, something Haith was clueless at. I doubt we could pull Marshall away, so I would be pretty damn happy if Howland came aboard.

I'll take a guy who's been to as many Final 4's as Bill Self and Gregg Marshall combined. He was cleared of any NCAA wrong doing so I don't care about that other shite.

You think UK was pissed about getting Cal with all of his "baggage"?

Y'all would go and bring in the most boring brand of basketball after UT and AU both hired uptempo guys......

Who cares?

We were 325th in tempo this season. And no one cared, because we were playing good basketball and winning.

If you think issues with the NCAA was all that was going on at UCLA, well, you need to use the googles.

Cal had taken two different schools to the final four over a decade apart with an NBA stint in between.

No doubt it's either Howland or Anderson. I can def see Alden pooching this one and hiring Anderson, but Alden's days will be numbered if he hires a D-2 HC. I'm starting to think positive and believing it will be Howland.

You missed that second part of that post. The only coaches that have left a job like Mizzou is because they have a bad roster and will likely be fired with another poor season.

I know about those other issues, don't care.

How many of those final fours were stripped?

The guy was coming off multiple elite eights and final four appearance when Kentucky hired him. Howland not so much.

Howland just won the Pac 12 last year. No NCAA issues.

And then bowed out in the 2nd round of the tourney.

Who gives a shite? The guy is a top 20 coach at worst and has won everywhere he's been.

KCTV5 in Kansas City is reporting Kim Anderson has been offered the job.

Would rather have Mike Leaf from Winona State. Now that guy has won TWO national championships.

Either one would be an upgrade over Haith.

Since Arkansas has been to one.

Dale, the options aren't many. If not Marshall and not Howland, who would you propose?

To more accurately answer, I think '08 was the last one.
