His stats were ridiculous.
Ridiculously bad, maybe. For a heisman winner*
2009 Ingram (Alabama):
1,658 rushing yards, 17 TD
334 receiving yards, 3 TD
2009 Gerhart (Stanford):
1,871 rushing yards, 28 TD
157 receiving yards, 0 TD
2009 Dion Lewis (Pitt):
1,799 rushing yards, 17 TD
189 receiving yards, 1 TD
2009 Ryan Williams (Virginia Tech):
1,655 rushing yards, 21 TD
180 receiving yards, 1 TD
Now let's compare Ingram to previous heisman winning RBs..
Reggie Bush, USC 2005:
1,740 rushing yards (8.7 ypc), 16 TD
478 receiving yards, 2 TD
Ron Dayne, 1999 Wisconsin:
1,834 rushing yards, 19 TD
Ricky Williams, 1998 Texas:
2,327 rushing yards, 29 TD
307 receiving yards, 1 TD
Eddie Georgie, 1995 tOSU:
1,927 rushing yards, 24 TD
399 receiving yards, 1 TD
Rashaan Salaam, Colorado 1994:
2,055 rushing yards, 24 TD

Good guy, not the top center.

He should get a made up award, as you made up the player.
Champ Bailey, for example? It doesn't matter what team he is on.. the dude was the best and it wasn't close.

In college, those are the two positions that are typically the most crucial.
Look at the numerous freshman RB around the country playing in big games. RBs are a dime a dozen.
Hill, Yeldon, Gurley, Lattimore, Richardson, Dyer, Ryan Williams, Black mamba, Seastrunk.. just in the past few years. Those are recent too.

What would MI's #s be if he had played in the PAC10 or Big12? He'd probably average 200 per game.

Barrett Jones
I just can't get past his uncanny resemblance to Jerry Sandusky.

Setting the football accolades aside, its amazing that Barrett maintained a 4.0 GPA in Accounting in both the Undergrad and Masters Programs. I got my B.S. in Accounting at Alabama... Ive never heard of anyone maintaining straight A's in all of their Undergrad Accounting courses, let alone Masters too.

tha frick?
Best center in the country. Lead the Oline that kept LSU's beast Dline in check, and the domination of UGA's.

I have no desire to engage in some debate over Ingram as that has been discussed over and over and over. However, while your posting those stats why don't you post the number of attempts and resulting YPC. Then you begin to see that Ingram was better than Gerhart in a tougher conference. Simply posting total ydg and td's doesn't tell the true tale when you consider where Ingram did his work, and the fact that he shared carries with Richardson.

Wow, just checking back with this thread I started over 3 hours ago and I see it's up to 5 pages. I think to myself, huh, lots of discussion in here about Barret Jones and the Awards show...
...NOPE...
...just more LSU fans bitching about Bama.

And the fact that MI has much more impressive runs than Gerhart. It's about the Most Outstanding Player.

There is no debate. Ingram is the most undeserving heisman winner (at RB) of all time. He just didn't have the stats, but he had name-brand and a good slogan "Alabama has never had a heisman winner".

The LSU and aubies will be SOL if Bama ever goes out of buisness . They will have to find someone else to bitch about.

All around great guy. Best OL in CFB in many many years. Who runs a 2 pt conversion right up the middle? Congrats Barrett!

You're forgetting all of the impressive runs he had.
