Bama's season seems to be on the line

It is a big game in the west. A loss to UGA would mean Ole Miss would need to lose three games barring tiebreakers with multiple teams. FWIW, I see the gumps winning. It is way too early to write them off. A loss though, makes it tough.

Amazingly similar to last year.

I agree. Win this one and Bama can make a playoff push. Lose it and the wheels could fall off

2 SEC losses and yea, the wheels are off for this season.
God forbid Bama go 10-2 or 9-3
That being said, yall seem to always rebound.

Gonna be a tough game. UGA is a better matchup for Bama than Ole Miss but the game being in Athens will make it tough.

Ever notice that the definition of Bama's season is "winning the SEC" or "making the playoffs"?
Has our success REALLY gotten so common that a 10 win season, regardless of, well, anything, is a bad season? :)

With the way Coker has been playing and Robert Foster being out... I can't see Bama winning this game on the road. Coker's first road start BTW.

Did they change something about the rules? An east lost would be meaningless to the west race. Bame needs to win out and ole miss needs to lose 2x or once and then the tiebreak goes to record of east opponents i think

10-2 = wheels falling off ... season over ... Earth stops turning ... sun fails to shine ... stock market crashes ... antichrist rises ... world comes to an end.

I agree it would have been nice to beat Ole Miss and have margin for error in this game, but oh well this might just be a year Bama is out of the hunt early. I hope not, but it might be.

Felt like we'd lose to Ole Miss. I feel like we'll lose to UGA.

Yep, this game will be huge. Alabama needs to show up big for this. Coker can't get intimidated by the road. O-Line will have a huge test too dealing with Georgia's front 7 and communication wise with the noise.
Defensively, you can't just think stopping Chubb will do it. Lambert has had some nice throws this year and has a completion % around 70 I belive, so I think Georgia will definitely try to establish a balanced offense, which will be hard. Alabama needs to stop Chubb and pray the secondary can cover.
I wish we would blitz Foster more. He struggles in pass coverage so much, but he is so built to attack up the middle.

If Coker has a good game and UGA has issues with the run game of Bama it will be close.
Bama how good is your DB's? I think UGA will have issues running up the middle with Bama's front 5. If Chubb, Michel, Lambert and Mitchell have good days them, I feel Bama loses another one.

I think any rational person realizes that the mindset for Bama totally changes if they lose to UGA. If they lose, which I don't think happens, then their goals for the season as a team are completely over in the first week of October.
If they win, all of their goals are still in front of them.
If they lose to UGA, I could easily see them dropping two more games between (aTm, LSU, MSU and event UT). 8-4 when you are far and away the most talented team in the nation is a game changer.
That said, if you win, the team bears down and plays like it is playing for the title.
Being out of SEC contention the first week in October is an affront to Saban's entire message and will make the player's question him for the first time since he hit the Capstone.

If we lose and Barnett doesn't start the rest of the season, Saban will have successfully made my arse quit. I won't stop watching, but I will stop caring.
