To be honest i find it a little underwhelming. The 16 championships is of course incredible. But that display itself is kind of lacking.

Its just the display for the trophy

Is there someplace to view the original trophies from all claimed championship seasons?

Last time I checked, the Bryant Museum had a lot of them, or at least replicas. The originals are most likely of display in the Mal Moore athletic facility somewhere.

Wait, the school actually claims 16?

I thought the university claimed 11?

No.

But I thought 16 was what the fans claimed with the recognized number actually being 11.

I'm kinda...unimpressed. Pretty sure it wont stay there.

What we need to do is a wing at the museum for all this stuff. I know the "actual hardware" sits in the football complex and is lining each side of the long hall you walk down but the replicas need to be in one place in the museum.

Is that the same as that gawdy statue of CamBone you guys have outside JHS? I mean people living in glass trailer parks shouldn't be throwing stones, you know?

No they just put them up in the windows sometimes so people who cant get into the Mal Moore building can see them.

Last year at the Alabama Auburn basketball game they had all 3 BCS trophies in that window.

Tuscaloosa... What is with the 1930 NCAA BB champions in your sig? Just curious because your bb program is historical trash. That FB Champions display is sick though even though several of the years are bs....such as 1964.

Why wouldnt you include all your prior National Championship Trophies as well? BCS Crystal Balls, AFCA's, Rings if needed etc...

Alabama should have the best NC display in football...not that this is bad I just think all the hardware would be a lot cooler than simply Helmets with the years.

Edit: If I was Bama I wouldn't even have a display...I would have a Championship Museum. Murals, Jersey's, Ships, Rings, Memorabilia, etc...It would be like the 16th Chapel had sex with Football.

16 is the number from the school's Media Guide. The school didn't take any official position on the count until after Bryant's era. Story was that the media guide wanted to show a history going back further than Bryant. The '41 claim is by far the weakest.

I'm not sure where the count of 11 would come from. The AP final poll (which started in '36) has selected Alabama 10 times. The AFCA, which dates back to '50, has selected Alabama 9 times.

Early on, AP and AFCA were both before bowl games, and neither goes back as far as the twenties and early thirties, when Alabama claims championships for some years culminating in Rose Bowl appearances.

Why is there a strange window to a parking lot behind it?

We do. That display is only for the 2016 CFB Playoff Championship. They just used the other years to accentuate it and add an exclamation point. That's why it's badass.

So it can be seen from the outside of the building by fans and anyone else who passes by.

You can see that window from Bryant Drive. The street is just on the other side of the parking lot. Same street that the baseball and football stadiums are on. One of the major roads through campus.
