OSU would have played JT Barret had he not gotten injured during the Michigan game. They had no choice to start Cardale.

Have you seen our kicker?..apparently not.

How many years of only conference champions selected into the CFP will we have to have before you realize that this CFP thingy is not about the 4 best teams? FWIW, Michigan with a SOS ranking at #127 doesn't belong in a FCS playoff.

Well to be fair, everyone on the rant had Bama boat racing Clemson, and they beat them by a whopping 5 points, and it took an onside kick for Bama to even win the game. And the fact that Clemson forgot that Tight Ends can catch the ball.

There are a lot of holes in what you said. The onside was a surprise the game was tied 24-24 at that time. Saban wanted to get back on offense because he knew it was a shootout. See this link and hear it straight from Saban.

Once we were up by two touchdowns they went prevent. Which, any football person knows has a glaring weakness underneath with enough time. Saban explains that in the link as well. Ask LSU in 2012.

Clemson is not nearly as good as they were last year.

Hopefully we'll find out, but Clemson is probably the only team of the playoff contenders that can match up with Alabama on their defensive front.

I'd take my chances with Watson and the receiving corps including a healthy Mike Williams, who missed all of last season.

Clemson would probably struggle to run effectively against Bama's front, especially given the Tigers' inconsistency on the offensive line this year. But if they could run it well enough to keep the Tide honest, it would open space for Watson to use his legs like he did last season.

Biggest issue for Clemson this season, much like last year, is turnovers. You can only play with fire so much before it burns you, and the Tigers have lived dangerously close to the edge this season.

Agreed.

I don't like the new system. The tweaks to the BCS system worked well and blended the human and computer component.

There was argument between 2 and 3, but for the most part they got it right. Wish they have kept that system and just taken top 4

And this, according to CFB Film Room: Jalen Hurts under pressure: 13-45, 3.6 yards per attempt, 1 TD, 2 INT.

Clemson's sacked opposing quarterbacks 33 times, just 4 behind Alabama's 37, which tops the nation in that category.

According to the S&P, Clemson's defense is better than LSU's.

I think it would be a hell of a game should Clemson meet Alabama. It's unlikely they'll meet in the semifinal, but I'd love to face them.

Kelly and Allen lit up Bama's secondary pretty good. Watson is one of the qb's I am hoping Bama doesn't have to face. I do not beleive for a second that Clemson's defense is as good as LSU. It may say that on the stat sheet, but there is what 1 common opponent? LSU plays in the SEC west and they played Wisky out of conference, I seriously doubt Clemson's ACC schedule has been as hard. That being said if Bama and Clemson meet again in the playoffs, I would expect another good close game. I would also expect another Bama victory in the end.

I've always felt that Clemson is the only team that can keep Saban from adding to his collection. They have the WR's and QB to score just enough on Bamas defense. Clemsons D is still pretty good as well.

Bama would destroy UM and/or Ohio St, IMO.

Watson isn't performing at the level he did last year.

We would score on their defense.

Our defense is faster and meaner than they were last year so I could see Bama winning by a couple of TDs.

If they catch them in first round with 3-4 weeks to focus on a known entity, I think Bama handles Clemson pretty well.

Assuming Bama makes it, I'd much rather play a Clemson, OSU, or Louisville first to allow more prep time.

Udub and a more traditional UM are great teams, too. But, less to prepare for against their offense outside of Bama strengths
