I-10 in mobile was one lane this morning. Let's not pretend like the roads were all hunky dory across the state yesterday.

Should he have sacked up and gone, yes. Can you really blame him for not going? no

Only people who put too high an importance on sports think this was worth a drive after this week's chaos.

Well that's a whole different ball game, then. If he was legit afraid to drive, then it's much less of a bitch move.

They should do something on a larger scale, though, since he didn't go. Maybe record the whole SGA singing the Auburn fight song and putting it online or something.

The interstates and roads here in bham were still somewhat of a clusterfrick yesterday.

I dont blame the guy for not showing up. Who gives a frick.

Scab - never yeilding on his quest to rag on Bama. I guess it helps make up for Finebaum dickriding.

This. They were still asking everyone to stay off the roads.

Then were you satisfied when the Alabama basketball team on a bus made it from Tuscaloosa to Auburn and then back to Ttown safely? I had friends that made the trip for the game and they did it in usual time.

Get off your high horse. Plenty of people traveled yesterday and did so safely.

I wouldn't have driven for the game. Especially if I was SGA president. I'm not sure what he was doing instead, but I would have organized some sort of volunteer effort. Much more important given the circumstances.

You are right that this tradition means nothing to me, btw.

And let's not act like getting to Auburn was the equivalent of the Donner Party getting to California.

That said, I'm surprised no one with the Athletic Department thought to give the kid a ride on one of the several buses that miraculously made it to the game. It's an important part of the tradition between the two schools.

That's a legit question. Why wasn't he on a bus? Seems like that would have been a priority if the university thought he needed to be there.

Who presented the trophy instead?

@CecilHurt: Alabama SGA was a no-show for the trophy ceremony by the way. Cited weather. I drove it today. No problems. Lame excuse

And that's why you can't speak on the matter. You probably wouldn't have traveled to the game if the snow hadn't happened this week anyways. Don't act like the snow is the deal breaker when in reality you're a sore loser with no sense of what this tradition means.

It's not impossible to do both. Apparently neither has happened so this isn't even an argument.

I don't care that he didn't come if the roads were in fact dangerous to drive. His douche-ness will be measured by whether he reschedules the obligation or not.

Nah. A trophy presentation during halftime at an auburn Alabama basketball game means nothing to me. Even when we win.

ETA: I wouldn't go to a bama basketball game this season for entirely different reasons. Or any season as long as grant is still around.
