If Coker was "neck and neck with Jameis Winston" then he would have been named the starter weeks ago. Period. After all the CONSTANT hyping by the Bama fans, it turns out they just got mega-trolled.

In all the multiple threads on this subject, I've yet to see an intelligent response to the question of why Saban should tip his hand to West Virginia and announce whether he's going to start the QB who is more of a running threat or the one who is more of just a drop back passer. Odd that more fans don't get this.

This year's group will be pretty salty, but I can see '15 being close to 2011 levels.

This year's Defense will be as good as the 2011 bunch.

Show me where I have hyped up Coker as slightly less amazing than Winston and I'll eat a plate of crow.

Shocking, except everyone in the world already knew the qb battle was going into the season

Thanks for your interest in Bama football though.

And what reality would that be? Average QB play? Oh the horror.

Cyrus Jones and Bradley Sylve are the starters at CB, Collins at SS, and Nick Perry/Geno Smith at FS.

I'm sure you can dig up 100 threads where other fans are accusing Bama fans of hyping Coker.

The reality is we've been cautiously optimistic all along. Not expecting heisman. Just want solid QB play.

Coker is for real

Quotes from Bama posters in this one thread:

quote:

I'm begining to think Coker should have started over Jameis.

He nearly did.

quote:

The SEC should be worried. We have never had a guy like this at QB before. We could have a team to be reckoned with.

coker literally will be the best QB in the west hands down. its really that simple

I only speak for myself, not the entire fanbase. We ain't the Borg.

ETA: Lulzy downvotes because I affirm that I am an individual.

Or maybe Jimbo played y'all...

Let's think about it.

I've got a QB that's only a Jr that's as good as my Heisman winner. My Heisman winner will only be in school one more season, and they were neck-and-neck, so win the starter leaves, there's no fall off. So what am I gonna do?

I'm gonna LET his neck-and-neck backup walk and go to the school that is more than likely my biggest opposition to another natty.

Yeah, sounds legit.

There were also Bama fans in the same thread that they knew it was a see and wait thing. Not all them hyped him. Just some. Tuscaloosa asked where so I brought it up.
