Gonna have to disagree... Most Of the RBs drafted from bama would have started almost every school...

Bama RBs in the NFL

But NFL executives believed that having many of the best players in the country squaring off in physically demanding practices and then playing games in the top college football conference took its toll.

And what was beyond question was that many NFL executives noticed the trend last year and were factoring it into the selections they made.

It wasn't as if they were taking Alabama players off their boards, but they were aware that some came with medical risks. Those questions repeatedly were raised before the 2013 NFL draft -- and they will be there again before the 2014 draft.

As I was saying.

Ahhh... the old elusive "Bama's scout team plays better than our team - WE REALLY SUCK" argument.

Also, this actually sounds pretty stupid considering the evaluative process (medical, physical, intelligence, and otherwise) that NFL teams put prospective draftees through. NFL teams are rarely surprised about the condition of their players when they get them to training camp.

It's because they shine behind the best offensive lines in college football. They are then drafted high to teams with poor offensive lines and don't know how to find their own holes on account of there always being holes for them to run through in college. This leads to the backs trying to dance their way to a big gain when they don't see a hole in the middle. The defensive ends and OLBs in the NFL are too fast to allow them to bounce the run outside and they get stuffed for lost yardage. It's a problem many RBs face when they get to the NFL.

ROTFLMAO at some of these guys. First of all, no one ever names a source, so these assertions have as much credibility as...well, they don't have any. Second, how many are we talking about? Is "some trainers" 2 trainers or 10? And then a comment by one person morphs into "But NFL executives believed..."

The bottom line is that the #9, 10, and 11 picks from last year's first round, 9 overall picks, and millions upon millions of dollars in new contracts say that some of these writers are full of shite. And it's hilarious to see how many rivals swallow that bait.

Which is why they continued to spend high draft picks and gazillions of dollars on Bama players.

Some of you barners will believe anything negative any writer says about Alabama. There's just no helping you.

Bama RBs tend to be bigger, slower guys. They prosper in Bama's system, which is based on running behind a mammoth O-line, and wear down the opposing defense.

You don't see that in the NFL; neither the talent disparity between lines, nor the actual offense. Nobody now plays the run-first, Bum Phillips/Earl Campbell offense anymore. You see QB-driven offenses, and you see more success from guys who complement that style.

Guys on Houston radio mentioned Bama RBs and their lack of production in the pros as a result of being run into the ground under Saban. Guy quoted an unnamed scout telling him this. Is this a Saban thing, is it an SEC thing? Do other RBs not practice as hard or take as much punishment at other schools or other conferences?

He's right about the decline wrong about the reason.

exception, not rule. And yes, in that system the bigger, slower guys (Ingram, Richardson etc) would do fine... for a couple of years. But it's not a very long-lived system, because the key players won't last very long.

get an elite QB, and his career (barring injuries) will last 2-3 times as long as most elite RBs. That's figuring somebody like Luck (or Matt Ryan, even) last as long as Brees, Manning and Brady do- about 15 yrs. In that stretch, you gotta swap out the RB every 5 or so years, and you better hope you keep hitting the right guy- if you're hoping the RB will be the key.

Any writer. frick some of yall are stupid. It has been written and said by many. Just because most gumps can't read and ignore anything they don't want to hear does not make it less true.

Are some of you guys this insecure in real life as well? You don't have to deny anything and everything you don't like to hear.

You are throwing out alleged comments by unnamed "NFL scouts" and then laughing when facts are shown to you which destroy the statement.

I don't care whether it's the line, or the size, or speed, or whatever...I just want them to keep running all over you again this year.

Bama RBs come with less tread on the tires (under saban) and it appears NFL teams are taking notice of this.

No evidence of this at all.

You're joking right. Top recruiting class yearly says otherwise. I think the lack of production stems from a great O-Line yearly. Once the RB's get to the next level production falls as the talent on the other side of the ball rises.

Think of it like this... if your college team is the most talented in the nation, they all help each other look very good on the field.

Then they get in the NFL. The playing field is level.

A good example (question) is... how good will AJ McC be in the NFL? It's very hard to say because many of his current college teammates overmatch the opposing defense on a weekly basis.

I just wonder how that shitty nfl talent tasted when they blew their loads all your your mouths the last few years?

I'm trying to figure out what is the worst thing ive heard about the Alabama football team here. That our offensive lines are apparently the best since we send out first rounders regularly or our rb's, which we also send out first rounders regularly.

4 rb's to the nfl in the last 6 years.... I mean how often does that happen?

Keep it up guys, y'all just keep giving us more fap material.
