As the old saying goes, "the pros are about X's and O's and college is about Jimmies and Joes"....that said, Bama has great offensive lineman and very talented running backs. Most collegiate teams just don't have the DL to stand the punishment for entire games. Once in the pro's, Bama's RB's struggle bcuz it's tough sledding against teams that are just as talented. The same can be said of MANY RB's! Most of your ultra succesful RB's in the pro's are usually the ones that ran behind so-so lines in college and STILL had great numbers. Maybe their vision of finding holes is better since their lines don'y usually make many. Bama on the other hand, has OL that make gaping holes and RB's get used to not always perfecting the art of finding holes.

Shaun Alexander got 30+ carries a game for 3 and a half years. Bama ran the shite out of him. Then he won NFL MVP

well, Eddie Lacy was a starter behind the best OL in recent memory and everyone in the NFL raves about his vision, so that doesn't make any sense.

it appears NFL teams are taking notice of this.

TJ Yeldon will be selected earlier in the draft than Tre Mason or Jeremy Hill

Bama practices are no harder or more physical than any other teams Dude doesnt know what he is talking about

There are scouts that will not draft some Bama players because they feel Saban extracts 100% out of them and are damaged goods by the time they make it took the league.

so yes, he DOES know what he is taking about.

I firmly believe anyone could run behind the bama olines of the past 3 years or so. I wish Saban would prove this by putting a walk-on in at rb and giving him 20ish carries. Would be interested to see

Well those scouts must be in the minority since Bama has been putting players in the league at an impressive rate.

you might get your wish in 3 weeks. but that is only if Saban gets pissed off at his 5th string 5-star RBs for scoring too many TDs.

Dumb
Lacey is having a great season.
Richardson did fine last year. He is struggling after a trade.
Ingram has battled injuries.
Which running backs are great. Its only maybe 5 total.

IIRC Mayock said it's a concern some scouts have; not some scouts won't draft Bama players.

You only have two RBs that have scored more than 1 TD this entire year.

But, Lacey - who was running behind them - is also the most productive NFL back - so that doesn't really support the argument.

They've been sending oline to the pros since Saban has been there though. I just used last year since I knew several had been drafted.

True and he is a more talented back as well.

All I am saying is NFL scouts are starting to take into consideration the wear and tear of being in bama's program. And it is not the wear and tear from games. It is the practices and the level of competition in those practices.
