Not really. We return 7 of 10 from our two-deep. And one of the three we lose is really an improvement getting him out of there. It's pretty standard OL attrition.

If Kelly is back, we will not have any dropoff in the offense.

Defense was shaky this year, and that's where we lose the most in Hilton and Elston. Basically, we may have to move Tony to safety. And we only really have one serviceable LB. So, we have big holes to fill there. If Tony leaves, there's no hope. We give up 500 yards a game.

So, we're not a Playoff contender next year.

No, we aren't. With our schedule, I'll be ok with 8 wins.

I'll admit I don't know how your two deep is in the receiving corp. But y'all are losing Treadwell, likely Engram, and Cody Core. I guess Quincy Adeboyejo is draft eligible but I'd expect him to return? I just don't see how there won't be at least a slight dropoff losing those guys. But yes I agree, your defense has major issues to address in the offseason.

Big question is, will there be any pig hype? Or have most realized they will always be the best 6-6/7-5 team every year?

Lsufball19 -- I'm actually quite impressed in your analysis of our team.

Pretty accurate and valid questions about our depth going into next season. I would concur with most everything you've said. Rare that there is an actual, non-flaming discussion about a team on the rant.

That Washington Post article is poorly researched. Our big three juniors are as good as gone. No reason to even speculate the possibilities of them staying. They are all about to make tens of millions of dollars and good for them.

At this point I've just learned to ignore the rant's predictions and trust Saban. New QB? Who cares. New RB? Who cares. New DC? Who cares. I will only get concerned when he leaves. Hope Dabo is ready at that point.

Engram should be back for his Senior year. WR will be a minimal drop. LT will be missed, but we have some very good WRs to fill in. RB will be the same and if MGK comes back we are set at QB. Chad returning is very likely at this point. OL will be hurting, but equal to where it was to start this past year.

Defense will make or break us. Gross and Conner will help, but we might be needing to out score teams.

Comparing SECw teams to Ole Miss
More issues
Arkansas
Auburn
Mississippi State

Equal issues
Alabama
LSU

Less issues
Texas A&M

This does not represent order of finish.

I don't think we win the west but we dontave that many issues

Event losing Allen his replacement is going to either going to be his brother who already beatban8,th ranked ole Miss or 5star qb. We should get all the goodpeople on the line back, we return Reed at wr wh3 madelsu look silly carlelious andthevsec leader in td receptions

And
On defense welose 3 peoples the entire 2 deep winston, Hodge and gains . not a big loss

And we get Florida, bama lsu and olemiss at home

Well be fine

Speaking of star running backs returning, welcome to Leonard Fournette’s junior season. May God have mercy on all non-Alabama SEC defenses. LSU’s debate to kick Les Miles out was the epitome of overthinking coaching decisions based on wanting to be something they aren’t. The Bayou Bengals will go as far as quarterback Brandon Harris will take them in 2016. Maybe Les can find an offensive mind to do better on that front.

We will return Engram, pack, adeboyjo, and Stringfrellow. Add Losge and Jefferson to the rotation. WR will never be an issue at Ole Miss. Nkemdiche and Ward leave from the two deep D line and Isaac Gross will return after missing the entire season. We lose both starting linebackers, though Denzel missed the last three games anyway. His replacement was SEC defensive player of the week twice. The only real concern, other than replacing Tunsil, is that we lose two of our three starting safeties. Adding another top ten class. We aren't in rebuilding mode.

If I had to bet money, I'd lean towards LSU winning the SEC next year. As much as I hate to say that, they return a tremendous amount of talent and you have to figure Harris can't get any worse. Bama, as always will lose a lot to the draft and rebuild. They won't lose more than 2 games, but I think Fournette will go into that game on a mission. Arkansas will continue to do what they do, A&M could be good but it all depends on if one of those QBs can put it all together. I think Auburn will struggle again, but they have the talent to win the SEC if Sean White keeps improving. Hopefully Ole Miss surprises me, but I'm just not sure we can lose the talent we're losing to the draft and be better next year. State will struggle without Dak.

My prediction in the West
1)LSU
2)bama
3)A&M
4)Ole Miss
5)Auburn
6)Miss State
7) Arkansas

Everyone rebuilds every year according to you then. Lose five defensive starters. Return one who missed the entire season. Not exactly drastic.

it's who those players are. and if you lose two linemen, two linebackers, and two in the defnsive backfield, wouldn't that be 6 players? losing half your defense, your best players from that defense, and a defense that struggled all season, yeah i wouldn't be concerned at all.

I said we lose two d linemen from the TWO DEEP. And I don't see why us losing good players is any worse than anyone else losing them. Nkemdiche and Elston are the only two players we lose that anyone in the SEC can name off hand.
I look at who's coming back. Unlike some, we were deep on the D line and return three starters plus Isaac Gross(redshirted w injury and had been a three year starter). We are thin at linebacker but return two of our top four contributors losing CJ, who was an end for four years, and Denzel who didn't finish the year anyway. Return every corner on the roster. We lose two of three safeties but return the one who has first round NFL stock. Return all kickers. 6/8 from receiving rotation, 2/3 top rushers, most of our oline starts for the year, and a quarterback that will likely end this season with the third highest single season passing total in SEC history. Plus add a top ten recruiting class. If we lose games next year it'll be because good teams just beat us. Not because we are rebuilding. We have the talent to make a run at it.
