Ingram still played well last year. You keep saying Ingram was signed because he was the cheapest option but keep ignoring that the Saints had barely any money last year. They signed him on because they actually wanted him. If he played like he did his first two years they wouldn't have signed him. If Ingram can't do well the next few years than he is bust, but until then he's not.

The Saints signed him because they feel he is a utilitarian RB that will allow them to free more money next year. If they signed a big name RB(big $), it effects would be felt for the next 4 years. If they signed a wildcard FA and he produced nothing, then the Management would have a harder time explaining it to fans. Ingram was the safest and cheapest long term choice. After the issues with the Saints the last 2 Seasons, public perception is big for management.

So do you think Ingram is a huge bust?

No, just a first round bust. If he was selected in the late rounds, I would say he has had a good career.

Ok, I can see how someone can think he's a 1st RD bust. I still think he can or cannot be called a bust until 2 years from now.

According go posters on the SECRant, if you don't win championships then you are a bust.

Isn't that how it works on this board?

I'll be impressed when he does it for as long as Calvin Johnson, Andre Johnson, Marvin Harrison, Torry Holt, and Jerry Rice.

So you'll be impressed when he's as good as some of the absolute best players in NFL history? I will too.

Scale of 1-10, how impressed were you with JaMarcus Russell?

You do realize that Demarco Murray was a third round draft choice in that same draft.

So do you work for the Saints or an NFL team in a management position? Just a fan of the Saints? You sure seem to talk in absolutes about the reason for why/how the Saints signed MI. Or do you know MI? Just seems odd that you have that amount of knowledge of his situation /contract. It's almost like you are obsessed with a former Bama player, and not in a good way. ,
