Isn't Julio Jones like the premier back for the Falcons? Who said he was a bust?
Well the myth is either true or it isn't

You realize all those guys are still in the NFL and four are starting right? Hell Smith and Ingram just signed new contracts. Don't be stupid.
They are hoping the light came on for Smith last year, up to that point the GM was taking a lot of heat for his pick. Ingram signed a new contract because he was the cheapest option for a retooling Saints team. Many people consider both of them first round busts.

I'll be impressed when he does it for as long as Calvin Johnson, Andre Johnson, Marvin Harrison, Torry Holt, and Jerry Rice.
Until then, he's little more than an intriguing talent.

Talking about Andre Smith? He's been one of the better RTs in the league for a while now. Sure he didn't work out at LT. If that's a bust you you, we'll just agree to disagree.
And Ingram has had a good YPC the past two years, he just hasn't had the carries. Even his first two years when it was 3.9 wasn't horrible. I agree, after two years I thought he was a bust, but these last two he's become good. If that's a bust to you, we'll just agree to disagree.

Busts don't get new contracts. Thank you for agreeing with me

Busts don't get signed to 4yr $16M contracts. Especially when the Saints had very little cap room and cheaper backs in Pierre Thomas and Khiry Robinson. Yet they still signed him on.

That is not a very good second contract, especially when you consider what is guaranteed money. The Saints went with the cheapest option to get them thru the next two years to free cap money.

Did I mention Ingram? I was talking about that absurd statement that I quoted.

They do if the cap prevents you from going after better players. It is all about what is the best option to free up Cap Money. Sometimes it requires you to pick someone already in your system, instead of a higher priced better option. It's a Stars League.

He has the 10th highest avg pay per year and the 14th highest guaranteed of all NFL RBs. Also if the Saints wanted the cheapest option they wouldn't have signed him at all and would've stuck with the 2 RBs they already had.

Not bad money for a running back. They're not the commodity in the NFL now that they were a few years ago.

RBs are the cheapest option out there. Most of those highest paid RBs are 2nd contractors. The rest are 3rd or worse round RBs who are on 1st contracts.

Ingram still played well last year. You keep saying Ingram was signed because he was the cheapest option but keep ignoring that the Saints had barely any money last year. They signed him on because they actually wanted him. If he played like he did his first two years they wouldn't have signed him. If Ingram can't do well the next few years than he is bust, but until then he's not.
