Well yeah nobody is denying that, but he's stepping into a league he's never coached. Like I said, it's an exciting hire; whether it's a good hire is yet to be determined.

I stand corrected on averaging 60 wins I read it wrong.... so all the other points still stand and it was an awesome hire.

I couldn't care less about any of u dragging up my past comments for my basketball team... I'm always excited about my team and you can look forward to me being excited next season as well thank you.

so go back to my post and bring them all up front I said them and I take ownership in them and I make no apologies for being a fan of Bama basketball.

There's nothing wrong with being a fan. When you make asinine statements not based in reality, people will mock you. But you seem to know that. Carry on.

Oh yeah and I care very little in any man's opinion.

You will feel the wrath of Lil General soon enough!

I think that we are way over our quota for basketball threads.

You the excitement police or something... can I have a rule book?

So now I'm dumb?? Hahaha I won't resort to keyboard badassness.. feel free not read my post. We will destroy you in recruiting this day forth. No more Stansbury to payoff Bama players have fun with that.

"laced with envy"

I've already stated that I think he is a solid hire for Alabama. That being said, it is hilarious that you felt the need to make up stats to make him sound better than he actually is.

OP, you left out one major question: "will your coach bolt for the first NBA job he gets a chance at?" Another: "has your coach never recruited college basketball players?" Having said that, if bama was looking for a flashy hire, AJ is that. But flash does not guarantee anything for any coach. Finebaum likes him. That pretty much sums it up for me.

I'm just happy Bama got him out of the coaching pool before the Pels fire Monty.

We could also ask them, has your coach been fired from another school over NCAA violations?

As someone who watched probably 90% of the games he coached for the Mavs, he's a good coach (on the defensive side). If he's learned how to run an effective offense since leaving the NBA, great. Otherwise, I wouldn't expect great offensive basketball.

There are probably no Mavs fans that are sad he is gone. So much of what he "accomplished" was Dirk Nowitzki being in the prime of his career. But he DID get the Mavs to start thinking about defense, where as Nellie wanted nothing to do with it.

On paper it's a very good hire.

I don't know that you can compare it to Calipari yet though. Maybe after a few seasons...
