Replied to your post earlier baw. Our ST are abysmal. Your defense is the best in the league. That is reason enough to be concerned.

In addition, your offense is efficient and protects the ball well. And your game planning/preparation is superb. Your team is ready when they step on the field.

Need anything else? A hug perhaps?

confidence:
1. we have NFL talent everywhere
2. we're at home
3. we're healthy

concerns
1. they have NFL talent everywhere
2. we're at home (in the LSU-Bama series)
3. they're healthy

Seriously, I dunno how you break this down. It's strength on strength. Coker is the better prototype QB, but he's been more adequate rather then outstanding. In a close game, our kicker has been so awful on FG attempts outside extra point distance that it's a big handicap.

Being brutally honest as usual but Miles has lost his mojo against Saban. Or whatever, he hamstrings his coordinators historically and either his players like Eric Reid in 11 or Early Doucet and Matty Flynn in 07 bail him out, along with his somehow uncanny knack for calling some great late plays (trick and whatnot).

So Buga or Harris have to win the game. I guess the question here is will he trust those guys to win the game for him. If Bama is up by 14 early and holds it late you would think he puts into his zero INT Qb hands. I have a hard time forgetting his love affair with J Jefferson and benching Lee inexplicably but at least this time Anthony Jennings is not a real option.

I guess I'll give Bama about a 55% chance of winning. So you bams place your bets and lose them because I think this time the players take it out of his hands, allowing Miles to see how to coach properly without too much intrusion on his coordinators. I promise you one thing though bearhuggers, I'm a real fan and I cheer all the way to the end and I like the Tigers till the end of our days. I have family all throughout the Tigers that have given their all for them. I really just want to see a well played hard played and well coached game and nobody hurt and I'll be happy.

PS Beware though, I don't think LSU has really had a good defensive game. Chavis was really not very good late in games but Steele doesn't play very much man to man as he should probably plan to the strength seeing that White is back and people like Ricky Jefferson and D Thompson constantly blow coverage in zone.

Should be a good close game. Who has the better special teams?

They had 110 yards without that highly irrelevant Chubb run late in the game.

I don't have the exact stats in front of me but for the sake of argument we'll say the load was distributed equally between Marshall and Michel. Chubb notwithstanding.

That would put each at 55 yards and also considering (theoretically) neither had a rush above 5 yards, that would mean each had 11 rushes for 5 yards a pop. When you count in the fact that Chubb was also included in that 110, it becomes much less impressive and as the game showed....didn't matter.

Without Fournette you would be very average. Honestly.

You're not getting it... it's not about Fournette.

You just said Fournette is a lot better than DH. No shite, Sherlock! Gosh, you're stupid.

That was a funny post, and so true. After reading all the mouth-breathing, chest-beating that was a breath of fresh air. And that's really the final word.

I think the game is a complete tossup. For whatever reason these two teams almost always play each other down to the wire... offenses usually get conservative... and it turns into fist fight.

Like every year, I'm confident we can win... but not sure we will...

Should be a good game and I hope we come out on top.

Has it not occurred to you that Steele knows Bamas defensive scheme very well? I wouldn't be so happy about playing him. Judging from player interviews, our offensive linemen are a lot more aware of what Bama does w the dline.

You're playing Bama against Saban/Smart D and we are facing LSU with Steele in charge. That is what occurred to me.

Stupid facts chief. Leonard is 43% of your O while Derrick is 33% of Bama's.

Ready to see how wrong you are?

Quoting genro here.
quote:

LSU has 2164 rushing yards on the year

Fournette accounts for 1352 of those (Guice has 316) or 62.5% of LSU's rushing offense

Bama has 1508 rushing yards on the year

Henry accounts for 1044 of those (Drake has 265) or 69.2%

So, no Henry is more vital to Bama's rushing attack than Fournette is to LSU's
