Oh sure. They can try

I must say, ford and our fullbacks are pretty damn good at it.

It will be the best statistical defense Alabama has had since 1992. I don't think many people will ever give it the "best ever" label without a title.

Well the team as a whole is not the best ever -- but the defense is. Statistically the best too. Better than the '92 defense and that is one hell of a fricking achievement.

The way I see it is the only team out there that would give us a game in the BCSNC is Bama. I think the same for Bama. Either team would beat anybody else out there. Unfortunatley we had to play each other and there had to be a winner. Smurk!!

Nothing unfortunate about it this year

No doubt in my mind Alabama would shut Oregon down like we did, if not worse.

This is the game I would love to see, if LSU and OK State win out.

The Ducks would get spanked by 2 SEC teams in one season, and shut up all of the PAC 12 hype.

They rush for 320 ypg on average. It's got alot of similarities to the wishbone. Much like Ga Tech's offense. In fact, their coach was with Johnson for 15 yrs.

Alabama just seems to be in a cycle of having an amazing defense in odd years and a great offense in even years. I would love to see when we get all three phases on the same page.

I hate to say it, but if randle signs with bama instead of lsu, you guys would of had you're missing piece. So glad he came to lsu.

Likewise we were in it with Richardson til the end.

It is every bit as good as the 2009 offense, and in some cases it compares to the 2010 offense. However, it is not as consistent as the 2010 offense. A better description would be that we've yet to have equal amounts of experience on both sides of the ball in the same year.

This Bama defense might be the best ever in CFB if they keep up what they've done so far. Truly amazing what they're doing in the modern landscape of offenses.
Championship or not, this Bama defense has done it's part without question.

I still consider 92 the all-time best. Would hate to live on the difference though.

Some ofns older fans will be partial to the 92 defense but this one doesn't have as many stars IMO mostly along the DL, but easily second best in my 37 yrs that I am old enough to recall.

We would have had our missing piece had Duron Carter been eligible this year. We needed a big, possession receiver, someone who AJ could throw it up to. I love our receivers, don't get me wrong, but they are all kind of small. Next year, however, we should be fine in that department.

Fify. Not to try to sound boastful or anything but they don't have the physical players as us. IMO Our receivers were key to running the option successfully against y'all. They were able to stay with them just long enough to get around the edge.

Bama's D will throw them around like ragdolls.

This is true. GAS can't hold a candle to LSU's players. LSU is on an elite level. They do, on the other hand, have the advantage of repetition in an unfamiliar system. Their precision in this offense may allow them a TD or two. Or maybe not. We'll see.

As far as UA's defense goes, though, I'm too young to remember the stellar 1961 squad, but remember clearly some of the great ones of the 70's, 90's, and the past decade. Even though there are still at least three games to go, I am impressed.

This D lacks the communication and chemistry of '79, '92, '05, and '09, but it is easily the most physically dominant I can remember. With a championship, this might have been regarded as perhaps the most talented of all time.

Even without the trophy, though, I think true football fans will look back on this D and think "wow, that was a great team". Even moreso when reflecting on the LSU game and the sheer number of future NFL players on these two defenses.

Damn, that was a great game.....

If they get 2 more shut outs I say yea. They also have to shut down their bowl opponent. It is still to early to tell really.
