No, the 66 defense gave up something like 29 points all year. That team finished as the only undefeated and untied team, and no Bama does not claim the title that year.

In 2005 Bama led the nation in most defensive categories and people said they did not face a good offense. In their bowl, they then held Texas Tech's leading offense to 10 points. So say what you want about the offenses this team has faced, no one has scored more than 14 in 10 straight games.

I don't care what offenses bama has played, anyone who knows football knows this defense is one of the all time greats. I love to watch them.

Has Bama played a prolific top 10 offense?

Doubt it. In saying that,it would not matter IMO because most top 10 offenses have not played a top 10 defense, and yes it's that fricking simple. Even Shula in his 10-3 season won a bowl game against a team who I believe was 2nd or 3rd in nation on offense. THAT team scored 10 points, losing to Bama 13-10. When a good defensive coordinator has time to prepare, they usually shut down a good offensive team. Thanks Coach Kines,we Luv Ya

The LBs are scary good. I have seen Sabans 250 page defense on the Internet. These guys are very smart too.

I said 66 but apparently it was 61. Gave up 25 points all year. That's just sick.

Many Alabama fans will dismiss how good the defense this year was because they got beat by LSU.

If they win on Nov. 5? We're still hearing on every other Gump thread on how this years Gump defense is "the greatest ever"

Alabama still can't accept that they got beat, much less admit that LSU beat their "greatest defense ever" AT HOME

This Bama defense might be the best ever in CFB if they keep up what they've done so far.
