That was Saban's worst game at Bama, coaching wise. I have no problem admitting that. That being said, I don't think it was because "Les was in his head" like a lot of LSU fans want to believe. He just made bad decisions. Simple as that. Uncharacteristic of him, but it happened.

How so? If you're talking about the play call on the Maze/Reid pick, I disagree.

I didn't have a problem with that play call. My problem was not punting when we KNOW we aren't gonna hit FG's 45+

I think Saban knew points would be at a premium in that game and he thought LSU wouldn't be able to get the ball in the paint... he was right but our kicker was good enough

Was it fair that undefeated New England faced the NYGiants again in the Super Bowl? How about wild card St. Louis beating Division champ Milwaukee in MLB this October?

I'm not sure what you mean by fair - but show me an instance in sports where it states "after a team beats another in regular season play they can'...t face them in the post season."

Stat19, come on now..you aren't comparing apples to apples.

Surely you remember that the Giants had to win 3 roads games to earn their rematch in the Superbowl.

Ala "freakn' Bama was eating popcorn, not playing 3 tough road games to earn the rematch!

There is NO!!!!!!!!!!!! arguement for Alabama other than they played LSU tough at home...that's all they got... They are very very very lucky to be in this game. PERIOD

And yes, they could win this game... I know they are dang good, but they should have had to earn that spot versus the ESPN eyeball opinion way.

It's hogwash... If LSU loses...it will hurt all the more because we lost to a team we left behind in the SEC...and they didn't have to play their way back in... Beating up on Georgia Southern and Auburn is not "Taking care of business" ..Lulz!

Agreed, the FGs were the only questionable decisions he made, imo.

I think that the rematch just might be a blessing in disguise for this LSU team. Because going up against a accurate QB throwing blue darters. That kind of college football team can get you beat faster then anything else that I know. So I am feeling glad about not playing against a experienced college QB. And that I also believe that Alabama is really overrated this year as a great football team. Because of the tides weak football schedule. Giving the football fans a fault reading. Did you see the Alabama team become weary, like they were hanging on in the last quarter part of the Nov 5th game. I though that LSU depth was getting to Bama late in that 9-6 game. sure enough.

I hope you are correct.

Miles gets his teams ready to play bowl games...we have dominate in all but one...and the one loss was on a muddy field that was unplayable.

For many reasons, we need to finish this season off perfect!

Well, when your coach doesn't trust you to throw it down the field, it can look that way. Throwing side to side is safer, but there's only so much you can do without the defense eventually taking a risk.

If McCarron can't establish any downfield passing, and Saban has to resort to Maze filling that role again, I predict LSU will control the game. LSU is too good of an overall team for Alabama's ultra-safe QB play to beat them, especially when he has NO mobility.

I would have thought that knowledgeable football watchers could see that Alabama gained no overall positive yardage inside LSU's 30 in 5 trips there in regulation, and this would have been an undeniable trend.

But, no, actually Bama did this on their own. Everytime. And, just to prove how much of an anomaly this was, they went out and did it again, starting at the 25 in the overtime period.

Uncanny, I tell you.

We had a bunch of heartless thugs (see DJ Hall, Keith Brown, Jimmy Johns, etc.) who gave zero effort most of the time. I hate we lost to such a shitty program but not surprised with that team. I do not blame Saban for Shula's mess.

BCS = top 2 teams. It is the top 2 .

As a fan of college football, I can appreciate that everyone gets the opportunity to see the best 2 teams play. I would have loved to see LSU-USC in '03.

The whole point of the BCS system, and all adjustments to it since its inception, was to determine an outright national champion. Should Alabama win on Jan. 9th, that goal has not been accomplished.

Most logical observers know that Bama would have beaten Ok St badly and it would still be LSU vs Bama on the 9th

Bama beat R Kansas, Penn St and a bunch of losing teams. Most logical observers miss this I guess.
I forgot about Auburn...

Oklahoma St has beaten several good teams, Bama not so much

Bama didnt just beat a few weak teams, Bama destroyed them. When u compare like opp between Bama/LSU the scores are almost identical. If u go 11-1 in the SEC you are damn good. Bama would kill Ok St in a plus 1 and I hate we dont get to see it. (It was the Big XXII's fault! The SEC and ACC wanted a plus 1 three years ago!)

Not making excuses about 11-5, LSU won fair and square. Bama did have several key injured players by the 2nd half. B. Jones was on one leg, so was Maze. Alex Watkins had a broken hand from the UT game, Mosley still had a cast from his dislocated elbow. Lacy had a bad turf toe. Jessie Williams injured his arm on the first play, Steen had a concussion from the UT game.
Alex Watkins and Cj Mosley will be critical for Bama to stop the option from LSU. They are Bama's fast linebackers and u will see them alot. I also have a feeling that you will see some postion changes on special teams, less first year players and more starters. This game will be different from the first as I expect LSU has some nicked up players that will be healed and new wrinkles to unvail.

As an LSU fan, it isn't unfair to LSU. The system is what it is and it worked the way it is supposed to work.
