I think we're all kind of pulling for it. Reminds me a lot of Russell Wilson. Poised. Good passer. Good speed. Looks to scramble to throw. The main thing is this- if he starts at Alabama as a true freshman, he's probably a pretty good ball player, and the rest of y'all have to deal with him for 3 years

Bateman just kind of has a sissy demeanor to me. There's no cockiness or arrogance about him. Just seems too aww shucks to me. The kid is from Utah so that's to be expected. Great athlete but he just seems like a pussy to me, and that's not the guy you want leading a roster full of alpha dog savages

Will be interesting to see what happens if they go with a true freshman. There's a definite learning curve in the SEC. Mistakes are going to happen until the game slows down.
It seems it's even truer for the dual threat guys. They're a little quicker to panic and try to make something happen when their legs even if there's still time in the pocket.

No, He will have a package but will not start. Cooper Bateman will be the quarterback.
First, nobody and I mean nobody gets that kind of information from Saban. Second, the press last year all but named cornwell the starter during camp. When's the last time u saw him play?

I could easily envision a scenario where Bateman or Barnett start but Hurts comes in and plays a significant amount. Saban did it with Jamarcus Russell and Marcus Randall one year. Randall started most games but Russell played almost as much if not more than Randall.

I think a freshman true or RS will start. I also think Hurts may not RS under any scenario.

IIRC he got into Saban's doghouse for some reason that I really don't know, and now he has some kind of "injury", though I don't know if that's even true either.
It's kind of a mystery, but if he was good, he would be in the mix. He's just not.

If Barnett can't beat out Bateman and Hurts he's on the fast track to bust city... And I don't like to throw that bust label out with QBs until they're juniors but come on ?!? He was a 5 star coming out and it sounds like he has a true frosh on his heels.
