Wow, 1991. Is that after Zow? Of course not.

Learn to read.

The person I responded to also included the following in his post:

So one black Qb in your lifetime at Alabama

I was born in 1987. Danny Woodson falls within my lifetime.

Coker has played several downs... just none for us.

18 for 36 and 5 sack. That is Maxwell Watch worthy.

Why are you so worried about pre-season watch lists and awards, if you are so convinced otherwise. It has no bearing on the season.

Don't they put just about everyone on these preseason watch lists?

This problem destroyed TN in 2005 when they were preseason top 3...it really was the beginning of the end for Fulmer.

Looks like Saban's reign is over!

Well not bragging on the stats, but at least I know the difference between some and none.

You were four

The fact that you had to use google to find out the names of black Qbs says it all.

Not worried, just making a point about the hype of players who haven't earned it. Everyone in the Press and the fans wanted to believe the greatness of Coker, now the early reports are saying it isn't a given he will start.

Saban did a pretty good job, going out of his way, to stem any hype. Coker clearly has more physical tools than Sims, but it may not win him the job from the word go. Neither have to be more than a game manager.

Any reports are just following what Saban has said relentlessly since the hype got out of hand. Carvell is just being Carvell, and going a step further.

It's really sad that either

a) You really believe that Alabama doesn't start black qb's because they're racist, but auburn is not racist at the same level, or
b) You're willing to use a subject as profoundly important as racism to further your football rivalry.

Serious question, Auburn, LSU, and MSU have had recent successful black QBs. Is Alabama any worse than Ole Miss or Arkie? Have they had a starting black QB the last 10 years?

You can add UGA to the list. Do not remember a black QB.

Clearly you have your orange and blue glasses on, because this has become a damned if we do and a damned if we don't situation.

No...I didn't have to use google to find out. I know my team's history and, I have been doing Alabama highlight videos for the years in question:

1991 Alabama Football

So...wrong again.

The last 10 years, We've had Brodie Croyle, JPW, McElroy, and AJ as starters. That's some stiff competition (except for JPW).

You can't win this argument with logic. This is a disingenuous bullshite jab, and it's sad.

Most schools in the SEC have a very disappointing history on the subject of race.
