I agree, Steele will be fine. The idea that a DC will turn a defense from bad to good overnight is a little cocked.

Not meant to rustle feathers, but I'll predict that Steele's defense at Auburn will be marginally better than LSU's next year.

Of course that is because of the players. LSU has some bigger holes to fill while Auburn will return more defensive athletes across the board, deeper also.

Even Jordy the biggest homer ever said he was teaching Saban level coverages and they just couldn't understand it.

Auburn's in trouble then.

So what will the narrative be when Auburn's defense is better next year?

If that happens, I'll tip my hat to him because it will be the first time in his career as a DC that a defense has improved after he arrived.

He was the DC of that Clemson defense that gave up 70 to West Virginia.

Steele's stint at LSU was short but it was long enough to know he will always field a good but not great defense.

Well I think I speak for most Auburn fans who, at this point, would be more than happy with only a "good" defense.

Jack you are retarded, auburn has no where close to the talent that LSU has on defense. we have the better dline, linebacker isn't good at either place and our secondary is better than theirs. We also have a much better dc than they have.

Steele managed to give up 20 plus points every game until a&m. He was worse than BDP and mallory at running our D.

Auburns D is likely to give up 25 plus a game with him

I tried to tell the Rantards this last year and was mocked as scared or some other juvenile quip.

I never liked the hire of Steele as a DC for LSU. I liked the Coach O hire.

And I'll say I like the Aranda hire... he did very well at Wisc., considering the lack of talent they had in some areas.
