He was trying to emulate Saban and he couldn't do it effectively.
If I tried to teach 10 doctors brain surgery and they can't get it, is it more likely they are terrible doctors or I am a shitty teacher?

Wow. First it was LSU fans screaming how bad Chavis was, then defending how good Steele is. Now they are saying Steele is mediocre?
Then it was Auburn fans laughing at LSU for getting Steele and losing Chavis, and now they are defending Steele.

Steele is getting fired at the end of next season, when Gus and his entire staff are let go following another 6-6 type year.

I'm not a coonass and no he isn't a good DC, in fact he is less the mediocre. He is a good recruiter and a decent position coach.
I tried to tell the Rantards this last year and was mocked as scared or some other juvenile quip.
Just so you know he has never held a DC position longer than 2 seasons because his defense gets worse the longer he's in charge. Recruiting is the only thing he does well and its not as stellar as he used to be.
