The vast majority of campus either DGAF about stupid stuff like this, and a large number will vocally bitch about the stupidity of it. Like me
We have our own species of lunatic that us Bammers have to deal with.

Aside from the fact that this is the cheesiest attempt at school spirit I've ever heard...you can't call it a tradition when it is brand new.
A&M wouldn't have 1100 traditions if they didn't start somewhere.
Honestly, I've never heard of this and think it is dumb. It's also dumb that Auburn gets rings from Balfour that look like every HS ring ever made.

Only a matter of time before a member of Updyke nation destroys the seal because someone put an orange and blue Cadillac symbol next to some sacred fresco of Coach Fran in the mediocre coaches wing of the Brian Dennehy art depository.

I'm sure you'll let us know.
I just wanted to point out that there are 27 posts in this thread from Alabama fans - including the OP. Never stop little bro-ing, little bro.

yep. Nothing says hate like jokes. Your problem is you take it all too seriously. Your fanbase in general has this problem. It is why you guys are so widely mocked and ridiculed.

I hope they do it up right.

For decades, though unsanctioned and discouraged by the University, an unofficial tradition among willing students involves "dunking" the newly acquired Aggie Ring. The Ring is dropped in a pitcher of beer and the student chugs the entire pitcher and catches the Ring in his or her teeth.

On Thursday, April 9, 2015, all Auburn Students are encouraged to join in Auburn’s newest tradition: Ring Night.
Ring Night will begin at 6:56 p.m. at Langdon Hall when the Auburn University Official Class Rings are placed on the Auburn Seal in order to gain the Auburn Spirit and also receive the curse that comes from touching the seal.
Ring Night festivities will officially conclude at 7:30. At 8:15 p.m., the rings will be removed from the seal and will await the reversal of the curse that will take place at Ring Ceremony. The time 6:56 corresponds to 18:56 in military time, which is symbolic of the foundation of Auburn University in 1856. The time 8:15 corresponds to 20:15 in military time, which symbolizes the rings removal from the seal in 2015.
At the Ring Ceremony on Sunday, April 12, ring recipients will dip their ring in a bowl of water from the President’s Fountain in order to reverse the curse that was placed on the ring after touching the seal, but maintain the Auburn Spirit that their ring embodies.
All Auburn students are encouraged to join us at Langdon Hall to help continue building the foundation of this tradition! Hot chocolate, apple cider and cookies will be provided to attendees.

According to local legend, the Auburn seal in front of Langdon Hall is not to be stepped on.
Richmond Gunter, SGA treasurer and senior in finance, said doing so means you will not graduate on time, will not find true love at Auburn
I never knew about this curse.
I also didn't graduate on time and the bitch cheated on me
