No stats needed, other than the $180,000

Just like "The Gunshot Heard Around the World", this will forever be "The 180k that created ATPB."

As much as I love the rivalries in the SEC, the $180k Cecil begged for is going to be the SEC's undoing..

I think Newton was more irreplacable on a team like Auburn that had a poor defense (based on how many points they gave up every game) than Tebow was on a team like Florida that had a good defense (highly ranked in most statistical categories). Florida had a better chance of winning games than Auburn did because Florida also had a defense that could keep them in games in addition to Tebow. Its the same with Alabama. Teams that are built on defense dont require great playmakers on offense. Look at LSU. Auburn needed Newton to keep them in games on a regular basis. This whole debate is based on irreplacability (dont quote me on that word). I believe Newton was the most irreplacable player that I have seen in a long time. This is probably why this issue is brought up so much.

Good Points. I agree with you.

You also have to remember that Malzahn's offense is built around the QB, without Cam the offense would have been a lot different. That's why it's so hard to say that they would have lost X amount of games without him.

Yes, we know. If they would have found this "obvious" 180k that Auburn "definitely" paid Cam then it would be closed by now.

how could I forget with all the piles of factual evidence surrounding the case.

Do us a favor, hold your breath until they find something actually credible. It shouldn't be too much longer now.

Here you go, keep grasping....

Seems like you are the one that needs to accept that, not anyone else.

I think tebow was just as irreplaceable as Cam. If you remember back to that season, they had plenty of close games where it seemed tebow literally just willed them to victory

I respect that. That was just the only reasonable notion I could think of. It was just my opinion.

You could easily say the same things about Herschel Walker at UGA. Like some have said this is a pointless argument b/c it's all based the question starting with the word IF.

Don't worry about it. It is a futile exercise in speculation that won't get anyone anywhere.

Wait.. what!?! You said they paid for him, wouldn't that make it a closed case with Auburn loosing already?

P.S: Auburn has a really good compliance department, you better just give this one up.

Ok, tell me how many rushing tds and yards Trotter has? Yeah, that's why they are removed.

Y'all need to realize that Trotter does not have the same skill set as Cam. Other teams are not worried about Trotter running all over the field. So when Trotter goes to hand off the ball he only has two options: hand it to the back or pull it back for the play action. With Cam, there were multiple options: hand off, play action, play action see nothing and run, options. All this "neither proven or disproven" talk is what people say when they know they are wrong.

Sure hasn't seemed to hurt Dyer this season

Just stop while you are behind.

You make yourself look more foolish with every post.

Nobody has claimed Trotter has the same skill set as Cam. In fact, that is the point. The offense would have been much different with Trotter and pretending like you know what the outcome would have been is asinine.

No one in CFB has the skill set like Newton, but by all means stack the box against AU this year.

Isn't that how Alabama DESTROYED Auburn in the 1st half last year? Stacked the box and blitzed at all angles?

I'm sorry, but I gave good statistical analysis of each game and how Cam impacted them. But when AU fans act like babies and just say that "you can't prove or disprove" anything then that's not exactly helping the conversation. I'm not pissed or filled with hatred towards AU or anyone really (except maybe Bama), SEC all the way.

I agree with you. It was just my take on it. If I had to make a best guess is what Im saying.

Maybe Im being too logical about this whole thing...

yup, and it worked quite well while we kept trying to QB dive.

2nd half there were a lot more quick passes and dump offs to the flats, and well... you know how it ends.
