One thing I pointed out to an AU fan is that without Cam AU would have been an 8 win team at best. Consider that going into this season the expectations would have been the same due to the losses. Most people expect AU to be at best a 7 win team this year. Now consider that it's Chizick's third year and no one expects him to do anything. Then again thats the difference in contenders and wanna be's. LSU, FL, or BAMA gets a new coach we expect to win it all by the third year. AU gets one and starts preping their grandchildren for the next #1 to come around.

Why exactly do you feel like its your mission to prove to Auburn fans they wouldn't have been as good LAST YEAR without their star QB? It's obvious to most of us that we wouldn't have had the season we had without him...
The argument is completely stupid though because he DID play for Auburn. yeah, there were a lot of unsung heroes on that team that didnt get attention but saying "you wouldn't have won without Cam" is just an attempt to belittle what they did. It's like saying "Your car wouldn't have won that race if it had no gas"... It's stupid and a childish reason to try to take the wind out of their sail IMO.
Here LSU is looking like world beaters this year and IMO has a great chance to take it to the house and you're worried about if AU would've won last year without Cam...

Just read your post. I agree that AU wouldn't have won the NC without Cam. It is impossible to know what the record would have been, so it is silly to argue about because there is no way for anyone to be proven right or wrong. I agree that Cam was clutch with his ability to pound the ball and control the clock in the 4th quarter last year.
I disagree that anything you see from AU this year, including the defensive struggles so far, lends any credence to your points about how much AU misses Cam. In fact, AU misses its interior D-Line and experienced MLB much more than Cam so far this year.

The Rig gave you a serious response. Play calling throughout the games would have been completely different, so the comebacks may have not been necessary. We may have lost 4 or 5 of those, or maybe a couple of those close games aren't even close and we win going away. These scenarios are silly.

THIS^^^ AU's Offense will still be among the top ranked in the SEC this year, WITH freshman Oline.
Where we miss Cam is on 3rd&under5. He could just fall forward and keep drives going. Trotter will prob have more passing yards than Cam this year. Our offense will still put up points.

To answer this stipud thread...witout Cam Newton AU runs an entirely different offense and thus each game last year would have been entirely different. So to say that we won close games with Cam and because of Cam si dumb.
take away the best player in the country and otehr players are forced to step up and make plays. defenses are forced to scheme differently. Would AU have won more or less than 9-10 games...nobody knows because THE GAMES DIDNT HAPPEN.

I dont think its my mission. I am just recounting a discussion that was brought up by one of my Auburn friends. Listening to them made it difficult to not chime in and give my opinion, which I dont think is absurd.
