This.

But you'll hardly ever get an Auburn fan to admit it's the case. I try to avoid these discussions because of that.

The biggest thing about Cam was 3rd and short. AU won the NC largely due in part to his ability to continue drives.

Good thing we had him then...

Haha I just started posting. I generally try to avoid pointless posts. When I post, I try to make it worth it.

A heart breaking play in BDS comes to mind.

Cam is a really good football player. I don't understand why thats difficult for people to accept.

Lets just start making these threads about every team.

LSU goes ( ) without PP7
Arky goes ( ) without Mallett
Bama goes ( ) without McElroy

I mean come on, what is the point to even having these discussions?

You might be the only bama fan on this board that has the balls to say that.

However, they went on to say that even if they had a different QB, they still would have been a 10-2 or 9-3 team because of the other players on the team and the coaching staff.

Having to listen to these outrageous remarks, I countered saying that Auburn, without Cam Newton, would have lost for sure to Alabama, LSU, and Kentucky; most likely lost to South Carolina (the first time) and Miss. St.; and possibly lost to Clemson and Arkansas. And I was being generous with these predictions. So that would have left Auburn with at best an 8-4 record, but would have been more like 7-5 or 6-6. No SECCG, no BCS bowl.

with Fairley plus how good their O-line was I don't think they would have lost more than 4 games. Cam was obviously a huge part of almost every win but i think is disingenuous to not give the other components of that team credit. Malzahn/Chiznik are really good at getting their guys to compete.

You can't even honestly began to say that we would've lost those games because there are literally 1,000,000 unknowns that factor into football:

1) Game plan would've been different.. So who knows how the opposing defense reacts to a totally different gameplan.

This is the correct answer.
