I also found the thread. Are you an alter of a poster associated with it? Not that I care.

Nah but seriously, I'm not but I have been accused of being one. Especially after I signed up. TT9 RA's every Tennessee poster on this board for being an alter in his mind

Um...I'm not sure if that is 100% accurate.

If I am wrong I stand corrected....I thought we didn't offer...... or maybe we slow played him because Burns convinced Nick of the pipedream about landing Fournette and he got pissed and committed to AU?

When I first signed up, I was always accused of being AuburnCPA and CleburneCountyTiger (something like that).

I don't really get accused anymore, although I do have an alter floating around inactive.

Bama fans seem to struggle to understand this but sometimes a guy just commits to another school because he wants to and not because he was butthurt or whatever.

That's not true....I liked Thomas and wished we would have signed him .....We were stacked at running back that year and Fournette is a special talent though.....It seemed like a good move for Thomas when he signed with AU....really surprised its not working out.

Well you can only stockpile so many before they start to look elsewhere.

Roc said this about Bama just less than a month before he signed with Auburn. Seemed like common knowledge that Bama turned on the heat at the end.

quote:

However, as Thomas himself recently pointed out, it was almost a problem that Auburn didn’t have because when the recruiting process was coming down to the wire, he was full ready to commit to the rival Alabama Crimson Tide, the team that he grew up idolizing.

He was ready, that is, until Nick Saban and the coaching staff told him to hold up, something Thomas wouldn’t have any of.

“I was like, ‘Well, no I’m not going to hold on. If y’all want my commitment, then y’all will let me commit right now,'” Thomas told ESPN.com.

Like I said, it was his lifelong dream. Pride before the fall and so forth and so on.

Roc committed to Auburn in August of '13.

The article that I quoted is from January of '14, a month before signing day when Roc could have actually committed to 'Bama when Bama began recruiting him hard down the stretch - as I mentioned in the post you have me quoted in

I know you can read. You're a pretty good poster.

I would have loved to have had him in the Bama arsenal this season. Roc is a weapon in open space, I imagine Kiffin would have fun with that.

Why does it bother you that Roc let his pride ruin his lifelong dream?

Why does it bother you that Roc Thomas committed to Auburn while Alabama continued their fairy tell recruitment of Leonard Fournette?

I'm not sure if it does. I haven't conducted a feelings inventory. I'm waiting for a mizzou fan to guide me to my safe place so I can explore my emotions further

True, true, jokes on me. With Roc Bama probably wins its 4th NC since 2009.

What we know about Roc?

*He is behind at least 2 maybe 3 backs in the rotation and has been moved to slot
*He has been injury prone
*He was talented enough to win the starting job last fall but got injured

*His girlfriend attends JSU (Personal Note: Hoping to see an AU scholarship offer soon called the Saban Grant)
*His High School coach, coaches at JSU
*JSU lost both of its starting tailbacks from the #2 ranked FCS team
*JSU returns the majority of its offense outside of the running back position

He may stay, he may go...but him leaving isn't an inditement of Auburn or Roc.

No.

Fortunately, Thomas isn't talking about transferring to a Div II school.
