Dude, this is like heaven compared to the Cam Herp Derp'ing this time last year.

Do the initials ATPB mean anything to you?

He's on full athletic scholarship.

Taking classes.

Counts toward the 85 scholly limit.

Hoping he will soon be healthy enough to become and active player.

They blame Tubbs. He certainly didn't help the situation with his last couple of classes.

But players under Chiz got arrested, transferred, medical hard-shipped, etc. and Chiz couldn't sign a full 25 this year in order to get back to 85. He certainly isn't helping the situation.

The question to me is why couldn't/didn't they sign 25 this year when they were below the 85 cap? They'll never got to 85 at this rate.

Please educate yourself before spouting off statements as facts.

I expect everyone to qualify for Auburn this year, and Diggs is still a possibility, but as it is, Auburn will be sitting at 83 scholarship players when fall practice start.

ya'll signed 21 this year to get you to 83, correct?

if you would have signed 23, you would be at 85, correct?

even if you get diggs, you'll only be at 84, correct?

am i wrong?

So if Auburn is at 83 scholarship players with 20 inked, how many could they have signed this year?

25 like you said?

Do you happen to know how many SRs are on the team and will leave after the 2012 season?

Do you happen to know how many open spots Auburn will have available for the 2013 class?

no, i am not wrong. you are at 83 with 21 signed.

you will be at 84 if you sign 1 more.

to get to 85, you'll need to sign 23 total this year.

it is simple math. you have slots available but couldn't fill them. why is that?

and when is the last time auburn didn't lose anybody to attrition from spring to fall? probably never. and do you really expect not to lose anybody? if you do lose two, then you wasted another 2 scholarships.

Could they?
Was this statement right?

It's simple math.

Yes or no answer. Could Auburn sign the full 25 players this year like you said?

The reason why I asked you if you know how many SRs Auburn has leaving after '12. And the question which you refused to acknowledge because you have no idea.

I believe with as many players as y'all were in on, I think y'all could. If not, who's scholly offer would have been pulled at the last minute?

Auburn is at either 82 or 83... Potential additions, Kozan and Diggs... Also Corey Grant will be given a scholarship in the fall (he is a walkon), so we just do not know yet. Like most schools, we may have some attrition, you usually do.

Yes, I said Auburn could sign 25 this year. I was wrong to state that without qualification. You could only sign 23 with your current roster size.

No.

I failed.

You were right on that point, I misspoke on 23 vs 25. But overall, my point is still correct in that you didn't sign the max that you could have to get to 85.

Now, answer these couple of questions...do you really think that nobody else is going to leave before now and fall? and when is the last time that happened at auburn where there was no attrition after signing day?

So now the story is that Chiz is holding scholarships for next year's class? OK.

Well in the last two years, Alabama has had 6 medical hardships, three non-renewed scholarships, plus a lot of transfers.
Alabama's March to 85 (2010 and 2011)

The real question, however is over-signing.. In 2011 (have not seen 2012 yet), Alabama (+11) was behind only Ole Miss (+12), LSU (+10) and Arkie (+10) were very close.

Cup Points: This is a comparison between each school's budget and # Signed. The team with the highest number is the worst offender of oversigning and the winner of The Oversigning Cup 2011. (OLE MISS)

Oversigning Cup 2011
Auburn was at -2, which meant that they lost 26, but only signed 24.. Auburn would love to get to the point they needed to process players... Maybe next year.

Will be interesting to see who wins this year.

Do you think it's ok to sign a kid and then later say, ooops, sorry, we thought someone would leave and there would be room for you then.

Nope, he usually give scholarships to walk on's if he has some left.

I don't follow recruiting as close as some around here, but it seems to me that Chizik has played it pretty close and done his best not to go over the limit where he would have to tell some kid that he will have to wait and sign later.

It also seems like you changed your argument from he was oversigning to now he is undersigning.

Nope, but it happens and has been happening for years. This isn't a new paradigm.

And that IMHO seldom makes your program better. You're going walk-on vs 4 star, and very rarely will the walk-on out perform the 4 star.

I never argued he was oversigning. Just having some fun with the Medical Hardship people.
