There are a couple of auburn fans who have acknowledged the hypocrisy of this move (or at least expressed their disagreement with it). I can respect that.
For those of you who have argued for years that Bama is ridiculous for claiming titles other than the BCS, AP or UPI, and are now defending your newfound "titles", please accept this invitation to lick my left nut.

TiM is not bothered by things like reality. He is the Auburn version of a Bammer. Hell, he has even threatened peoples lives over message board posts.

Now why was Bama playing in the 2012 BCS Championship Game again?
I will gladly explain it again. Because Iowa St lost after Bama and because Bama finished 2nd in the BCS. I no one thought Alabama should have been first until after they molested LSU in the title game.
Why are you trying to change the subject?

Does he not realize that the BCS didn't start until 98?

He is the king of hypocrisy. He used to say he didn't care about things that happened in college football before his lifetime and then make post after post about why Alabamas NC in 1965 or 64 or several years was illegitimate.

You calling someone out for ignorance in this thread is pretty awesome.

In 1983 what respect did Miami have to win ? ZERO.
Yankee bias bled over into the snow bird capital, that just happenes to be in the same division as ( in the NFL Miami ) Patriots, Bills, Jets ....... and you get a built in bias toward Miami.
Hell, no one here thinks BYU was the best team in 1984 save Mitt Romney.

Maybe Auburn would've gotten a share if they hadn't struggled against Virginia Tech in the Sugar.
What fricking game did you watch? Because it obviously wasn't the 2005 Sugar Bowl.

All those damn yankee coaches in the UPI in 1983 and their damn NFL teams.

Alabama winning so many titles lately coupled with Auburn losing in the national title game apparently broke their minds.

No school has attempted to claim a non-AP or non-Coaches poll title in close to 50 years.
Let that sink in if you wanna know the level of desperation we're talking about here.

The 05 Sugar Bowl when y'all only beat Virginia Tech by 3 (the same Virginia Tech team that lost by double digits to 5-6 North Carolina State at home that season).

I'm sure it's just a giant coincidence.

The 1983 Auburn team got robbed that year...they played the toughest schedule (something like 8 bowl teams, 3 or 4 which were in the top ten). #1 & #2 both lost their bowl games and #5 Miami (which beat #1 Nebraska) jumped over #3 Auburn. Miami's lone loss was by 25 to Florida, a team Auburn beat by a touchdown...
This very same scenario played out for Alabama in 1977...#5 Notre Dame (who'd beaten #1 Texas) jumped over #3 Bama after #1 & #2 had both lost bowl games...despite ND losing to an unranked Ole Miss team that year (OM finished 5-6) that Bama beat by 3 TDs. I know us older Bama fans weren't happy 'bout that one..
Not happy, but we don't claim them.

As for 2004, there is no champion from that year currently recognized and Auburn is the only undefeated team from that year...so why not.
Oklahoma is also undefeated, as USC had to forfeit the game. That's not the same as vacate.
