I think this best summation. AU won head to head so should get nod but being #14 is kinda crazy

Auburn definitely deserves to be ranked higher than LSU and they deserve the Sugar Bowl, but there is no way that they should fall 2 spots after getting blown out.

Also, A&M is 8-4, with a higher ranked win than auburn, and is unranked

Who knows people, who knows

Why? Would all the teams behind them beat them? If not, what are rankings for?

The call came in from the SEC office in Bham to the committee. Auburn going to the Sugar Bowl benefits the state of Alabama. The same state the SEC office is located. Coincidence? Conspiracy? Is it time to finally have it moved to Nashville? You be the judge....

Auburn gets to get their arse kicked by OU now, LSU was the only SEC team besides Bama that could have beaten OU.

Auburn didn't fall because all of the teams ranked behind them lost last week. There was nobody to put in front of Auburn.

Louisville lost at HOME to a 6-5 Kentucky team and they only fell two spots.

"Quit against Fla."? Mite want to check the stats. LSU went up & down the field against a good SEC defense. Fla.'s offense did jack shite except for one play. Mistakes cost LSU the game, hands down. But it was not from a lack of effort. After tough losses in 2 tough games,LSU went on the road & blew out 2 SEC teams, something CLM did not do. So much for quitting, MY take.

SEC shouldnt win the sugar this year. Dont deserve it. Conference is turrible. Auburn was a great choice.

Why

Well one could question why there is such disparity in the rankings when teams produce similar losses. The committee drops or raises teams rankings each week depending on their play and their results. How can the committee drop a team 1 spot after losing to an unranked opponent and keep them in the top 4 ( Michigan after losing to Iowa). How can Auburn only drop 2 spots after getting blown out by Bama when LSU held Bama scoreless for 3 1/2 qtrs and only lost by 10? Makes no sense. Don't be sensitive. I said that Auburn deserves to be ranked ahead of LSU and go to the Sugar ( actually neither of our teams deserve to go) , but there is something seriously wrong and foul about these rankings each week.

You are looking at this completely wrong. You don't have to drop just because you lose. That's not how rankings work. You rank them from the best team at #1 down to #25. Each week, they start with a new slate. Your previous ranking doesn't mean shite.

So A&M isn't better than Auburn?

This is what bothers me about the current system. Nobody gives a shite about the Sugar Bowl if it isn't hosting the playoff.

I think it's you that doesn't understand how the rankings work. The sportscasters were discussing Michigan the other day and if they should still be in the top 4 , and they said absolutely not. Are they still one of the best 4 teams ? ABSOLUTELY! But you cannot lose late. Obviously Auburn is not a top 4 team , but my original point was there is too much disparity in the rankings.
