You knew that the Defense was Saban's at every stop he has made. I can not figure out where Dabo's specialty is with his Clemson Teams.

I can't either. Maybe it's his dancing skills. Whatever it is, he's gone to the championship game back to back years. That's worth something.

They were thinking, that SOB is going to go to Bama after Saban retires!

When the SEC Scoreboard opens back up in August, you should do a search for the AU-Clemson game thread. When Dabo went for it on 4th down with about 2:00 left rather than kick the FG to go up 9, all anybody could say was there goes his shot at replacing Saban, what an idiot, etc. Things seem to have changed...

This thread just made me realize that Dabo might own the SEC.

He beat LSU, Bama, and Auburn (multiple times).

I thought it was the SEC Rant narrative that he completely out-coached Saban 2 years in a row and that Saban just got lucky last year.

Who said this? I've consistently said that Dabo is probably the only coach that Saban has ever out-coached in a game. Typically Saban just out-talents the other team. Equal talent and Saban made him look foolish.

How does that change the fact he built a program and hired the right assistants to make that happen?

Sometimes people need to set aside biases and recognize the accomplishments of a man that built the program up to where it is today.

Dabo has some annoying ways about him, but the man has done a hell of a job at Clemson. I would absolutely love to have a coach like him at Auburn.

+1
Some of your AU brothers appear to have blinders on.....they are talking about Dabo's back to back QBs without looking at the big picture. They question Dabo's area of expertise and "what is he known for?"

The man has been able to field damn good teams on both sides of the ball for a few years now. Offense, defense, great WRs, solid RBs, stout defense ALL play a part in fielding a high level winning team.

Hiring solid coordinators and position coaches are just as important has recruiting and developing the talent you put on your roster.

I agree, he is annoying and borderline juvenile at times. Maybe he'll mellow and mature some in the next few years.

Turned the tv off and went to bed.

I was not about to listen to him. But I do have a question, did he say it is fitting that a guy from Alabama beat Alabama?

Touche.

I mean no disrespect to your coach. Dabo has a lot of fun, good for him and good for Clemson.

I'm sure the pressure cooker that is Alabama football has to take a lot of the fun and levity out of a person. I blame Saban though, he came in with his OCD, jackass personality and we fans/alum are brainwashed now. It is what it is.

i dont' thinnk there is much pressure on a coach that has already won a title at the school. Saban's won 4 at Alabama, so he is under no pressure at all now in reality. not like his going to be fired if he doesn't' win another title soon.

You think if he produces a couple of back-to-back Auburn 8-win seasons that he won't at least asked to retire? That's unacceptable with their talent and resources.

i don't believe that , partly bc he's the reason that they have talent at the school in the first place. kids don't go to alabama just b/c it is alabama. they go there b/c Saban is the coach.

that is why they pay Saban that crazy Kobe money. lol if any coach could get those talented players, why pay Saban so much.

Most years it is a two game schedule, maybe three with Louisville in the Conference. The Pitt game showed that he still has some growing to do.
