Another fine example of that world famous LSU delusion that everybody loves so much

Gus is on the Hot seat because of Georgia.

History would tell you that if we loose to bama and uga we will likely only win 7 or 8 games. If we beat one we will likely win 9 games. Beat both and we will win 10 or more.

I suspect a 8 win season with a loss to bama and uga will get him fired. This isn't arkansas.

Auburn is the team to win it this year. They have everything in place. Looks like they will be in the 4 team playoff.

I'm gonna pull for Alabama to upset them none the less.
Got my fingers crossed.

I think if AU competes in every game and wins at a good rate, say 9-3; I don't think CGM gets fired.

If the lose 4 games by 3 tds, then it gets tough to keep him.

Alabama is the best team in the country. They have beat everybody in the conference. I don't think we will fire Gus for losing to the best program in the country IF we don't lose 35-0 or some other embarrassing store.

Kick 6 bought him at least 6 years.

Winning the NC didn't buy Chizik any more time, and Malzahn didn't even win it. Of course, it was easy to see Chizik wasn't going to regain control of his situation, but it was still a quick trigger. This year should be the swing year for Malzahn, IMO. If he can't win at least 10, Auburn doesn't need to keep him anymore.

12–2
8–5
7–6
8–5

3–9
7–6
8–5
7–6

With the exception of an extreme first year outlier for both coaches, Malzahn has an almost identical record to Bielema with better recruiting. We all know Auburn wouldn't stand to have Bielema, I don't know why they'd stand to keep Malzahn if he finishes with a similar record again.

When will fans realize it isn't all about your record. If Gus goes 8-4 but the team looks explosive and he has Stidham back the next year all will be fine no matter who they lose to. Unless some division 2 scrub squad gets them lol

Auburn will never understand that they are not a championship caliber team year in and year out. Never have been and never will be. But they ain't complete shite either. That one national championship to go along with that one appearance equals mega delusions.

Luck will never be on their side for a entire season again. They had their angels in the outfield moment now it's time to accept what they are. Dangerous but basic for the most part.

It's like every single Auburn fan forgot that Kevin Steele is their Defensive Coordinator. It's really weird

I didn't forget he fielded the best defense at Auburn in years last season.

Can you take a moment and compare Auburn's 2016 defense to the defenses of 2009-2015, please? Get back to us afterwards.

Auburn is more worried about beating Georgia than they are Bama. They absolutely have to win that game to have a chance in the West.
If you can't beat UGA, you don't have a snowballs chance in hell of beating Alabama.

He needs 9 wins to guarantee his job. 8 would be very iffy. 7, he gone. If losing to Bama was the standard of keeping your job, heads would be rolling all over the place. That's how good they are...that there is not one coach that is expected to beat them. Hopeful? Optimistic? Sure...but no one has cracked the Bama code and that expectation isn't on Gus either.

Did you not watch football last season? This comment was appropriate leading up to last season...now, it's just odd. Best D in years and HUGE improvement from 2015 to 2016.

Just out of curiosity, is there any pressure or discontent with Malzahn regarding his Alabama record?
The pressure comes from him sitting at 1-3 vs UGA more so than 1-3 vs Bama and 1-3 in bowl games.

He won't get canned though. Hell, they gave him an extension after that abysmal '15 season where he finished last in the division & got his only bowl win in the B'ham bowl.
