that why UGA needed an obvious missed penalty on punt return and about 10 drops by Auburn's WRs to beat us?

Was it obvious? And we fired our coach for barely beating a bunch of crap teams.

He couldn't beat the good teams either. But everyone knows Kirby will turn that around.

I've been saying for years that Gus is incapable of developing QB's outside the HS level.

He had a string of unbelievable stat-stuffing system QB's in HS playing against far inferior competition in a landscape of small town run-first, run-second philosophies.

Every single one of those Gus QB's failed miserably at the next level.

If auburn was good last year, y'all would have beaten Uga.

I do not know an AU fan who claims they were good.

UGA the last ten years was set up for great success. Four non-conference wins and going at least 5-3 playing in the weak SEC East, made 10 win seasons an automatic. The fans would just look at those totals every year and forgot to see how it was accomplished. Poor Kirby, the SEC East is getting better.

That would be a DB in the NFL.

This undeveloped QB put over 400 yards passing on Saban/Smart his last regular season game. Imagine what he could have done with some development.

It's gonna be another tough year for Auburn fans. They won't have a bad football team but they will have a very average team. I wonder where Gus ends up?

Getting unemployment with Jay Jacobs.

Gus spread offense looks more like the run and shoot of the late 90s.

They don't recruit good qbs because of the system. They have to have athletic quarterbacks and that doesn't equate to good qbs the can throw the ball.

The problem with this logic is neither Johnson nor White are dual threat qbs. Neither are really overly athletic.

Our really issue is Lashlee is a shitty qb coach and OC. And we do not have a short and intermediate passing game. Fieldgoal Gus wants to run the ball set up to throw it deep. Well that is fine if you score. But when you get to the redzone the option to throw it deep no longer exist and the O bogs down.

in teh last ~9 seasons they've only had one twice so this really isn't very surprising.

Actually, when it is clicking, it looks a lot like the veer of the 1970s.

AU lost 4 games by 8 points or less, with the worst QB play in the league, no WRs and a Defense still recovering from the Ellis Johnson effect.
This fricking excuse needs to be hung on every booger fan's wall. It's appropriate every year.

Not really. We got blown out in a ton of games in 2012. Like it or not, the team was in almost every game last year and never really quit (except for LSU). Regardless, losing 4 games even by 8 points or less gets old after a couple of seasons and Gus needs to show some improvement this year, especially on the offensive side of the ball.
