Stidham is the real deal, you'll get no argument from me on that point. However, I think your 2nd team D is starting to show the Steele effect. That's not a good thing. If it infiltrates your first team D, you're going to be in a lot of shootouts.

This is the spring game and several defensive guys missed it. There were multiple walk ons playing with the 2s. We'll be fine.

And besides. Our offense will make plenty of defenses look silly this year

The D had good coverage all day.

Dude, there is nobody who thinks 267 yards and an .800 completion rate is good coverage by the D. Big XII defenses put up more of a struggle than that.

Then maybe you should have actually watched.

Probably didn't hurt Stidham that some of the "2s" he was throwing against today in the secondary were walk ons that won't be actual 2s when the season starts

Small windows. He threw three NFL type passes for big gains.

It's a shame that AU can only sometimes excel when getting a castoff QB from another team and/or throwing cash at the handler.

Your evaluation unit should be fired.

Call me bipolar, but as long as Malzahn is our head coach...okay, let's have those shootouts.

We won more football games and had more fun when our defense sucked arse and our offense lit it up. Past two seasons have been abysmally boring, but we've had better defenses.

It's not like other college football factories were fighting tooth and nail to secure Cam Newton or NM at QB when we did. Believe the subsequent performance of both proves there is some degree of validity in Gus's evaluation process.

It doesn't really matter to me who develops our QBs as long as they play effectively at Auburn either.

To be fair I could throw for that against the 2nd team Auburn defense

Stidham has started in a couple of games in the BIG XII and he did very well against starters. It's not like he saw his first action in Auburn's spring game. We sacked him 5 times, and picked him off twice, and he still threw for 257 yds and 2 TDs against us down in Waco as a true freshman.

Auburn fans should be very excited to have him. Stidham is the best true QB they've had in years. He will make them much better.

He's just always a little late to the parade.

Looks very posed for a freshman. And Stidham looks like the real deal.
Too bad Myles Brennan couldn't have enrolled early at LSU for the Spring semester and participated in practice. He's supposed to be a very advanced "Passing" QB as true freshman go.................

Auburn is a legit contender in the west with a capable quarterback. If he is elite then Auburn may make a run for a playoff bid.

Our Oline is the biggest concern I have at this point. JS isn't Cam, but with a solid running game he can lead a team at a championship level. We apparently don't have a true tackle on the entire team ready to play meaningful minutes. That is disappointing.
