Last night wasn't good but if you get a shred of anything going on offense you have a great shot of getting to the Alabama game with one loss. That defense will keep you in every single game.

a lot of reaction to that loss is based on the fact that it was assumed Clemson would take a ste back with Watson gone. I feel weird saying shite like this but i would still consider AU the second best team in the SEC. You just didn't get a chance to break in a transfer QB against a couple cupcakes. Represented the SEC well on the road in one of the toughest places to win!

I would be livid right now if I were an Auburn fan. Give Clemson credit on defense, but once again, Gus takes over play calling and is completely clueless. His red zone offense is one of the worst I've seen. This is the 2nd year in a row they've had one of the best defenses in the league, only to be shat on by questionable play calling on offense.

I think they have the horses on offense. I refuse to believe Gus is that terrible.

How is it Gus can't put an offense on the field? It's almost like Cam was just THAT good.

I should have cruised to a three team parlay win but Gus shits himself and they cant score. Thanks Auburn. Dicks. And no with that O line you might not get anything going. It was embarassing to see Petway go laterally in slow motion and then get drug down after a yard. Sheesh

I'm not sure if it's genuine or a sneaky troll but it wasn't about Clemson last night. Its' about every game we have played since Nick Marshall left. If the other team has a good defense we do not score and we barely move the ball.

That is a good Clemson team sure but they were extremely beatable last night.

We haven't scored more than 1 offensive TD in a game vs. LSU, UGA, Bama, Clemson, or OU in the last 2+ seasons unless you count a couple of garbage time TDs in blowouts against LSU and OU.

Johnson, White, Stidham.... All QBs, all with different skill sets, all look the exact same under Gus.

It's Gus, he's completely clueless out there.

You are right we are the second best team on paper but with Gus at the helm it will be a miracle if we beat LSU, UGA, or Bama (lol)

This is a damn good team and it's going to be wasted and that's why I'm still melting

Exactly. Our defense deserves better.

Jay Jacobs should've conditionally retained Gus so long as he doesn't mess with the new OC's playbook. Instead we have this again, where every game against the decent defenses become the newest Georgia game rendition.

Good defenses know how to shut Gus down. Worked until they did, but it is over. Gus is done.

This.

All of this.

Gary understands. Gus is gone at end of year after another 8 win season

Honestly I hope I'm wrong and Gus is a fraud. Makes it easier for UGA. I just have a hard time believing it.

He put up good numbers as OC at Arkansas, Tulsa, and Auburn.

From the outside, it looks like a couple of things have happened.

First, he's out-innovated himself. His highly effective offenses were machines of simple efficiency. They weren't actually complicated but they worked damned well - then Gus got tagged as an innovator so he decided to innovate - which has resulted in backward passes and twirlybirds.

Second, I don't care what the stars say, I don't think they've got much talent on the O-line.

Gus' offensive playbook appears to have about six plays in it. His first year running it, it caught everyone off guard because it was so different from what the rest of the league was doing. His second year, it still worked, but not quite as well. Years after that have been awful. Coaches in the SEC, especially on the defensive side of the ball, are pretty good, as it turns out. Give them enough time and they will figure out how to beat any offense. They have done this to Gus, while he, for whatever reason, doesn't appear to have brought any new wrinkles to the table.

Auburn has no shot at beating LSU or Bama if Gus is calling plays.

I would think UGA would know better than anyone. They have been BY FAR the biggest beneficiaries of his ineptitude.

Oh yeah, Gus is still obsessed with the triple reverse pass. That has been one of his favorite plays since he's been at Auburn. He will run it in every big game. That should tell you a lot.

The way they've looked thus far, I completely agree.

There is something to this. I think it began when teams began going leaner and faster on defense - it took away Gus' schitk. The hurry up lost its mojo a bit.

I mean, Gus is defined by this:

You're NOT the second best team on paper or otherwise.

You're Alabama fluff. Deal with it.
