I know that the Cheerleaders at AU are not on scholarship, don't know about Aubie.
I know it was this way a few years ago, friends son wanted to go to Auburn, but got scholarship to cheer at Bama.

Boy cheerleaders are the smartest of the bunch. They get a scholarship to stand under cheerleaders and look at their hoo-has all day.

Our band director in high school was one of the Big Al's for a while. Im pretty sure he had the ghey and would be one the one to wear the dress in the relationship so this is on point with what you said about the females.
