I don't see what the big deal is? If the Aubs want to claim more titles then go nuts. Nobody cares but them and Bama fans anyways.

Those were some damn good Auburn teams. If AU wants to honor or recognized the achievements of those teams and the players/coaches that participated then claim it! Ten years from now no one will say shite about it, it will be recognized and accepted.

Not in 1910, 1914, and 2004. Check the records book yourself, it starts on page 74.

Hell why not.

I think if every SEC team would count every football national championship that they earned and were also named by an association, index, ranking, publication, etc. some of us would have more.

I know LSU would be able to count (besides '58, '03 and '07):
1908, 1935, 1936, 1961, 1962, and 2011

Ole Miss, Bama and Auburn would have more. Not sure about UT, UGA, Arky, A&M ??

No one takes these "claims" serious anymore. There are some seasons with 4 freaking programs claiming that year. Its beyond stupid at this point and Im glad Mizzou has stayed away from embarrassing themselves claiming some years that many teams would have done in a heartbeat already.

So that's all you took from that? Ignore the polls that recognized Auburn as NC's. Nice spin.

Are y'all plannig on pulling out that old faded mural of Terry Bowden and throwing it up on the stadium? I mean, he'd have to be recognized somewhere in JHS since he would be a national championship winning coach.
