He was ours first! Maybe UK should rename Commonwealth to "Paul Bear Bryant Stadium". You guys aren't using it.

have they actually approved a design? I haven't kept up, but I know there were many designs and specualtions

Yes. That picture in the OP is official. Actually minor construction started today (we're demo'ing some buildings around Kyle). Major construction starts on Nov 11th (our last home game is Nov 9th)

Make the return trip in 2015 for Bama/A&M and check it out in person.

You put a coach that went 25-14-2 on the side of the stadium?

That's a huge improvement from what they have now.

Thanks OP. I can't wait to have it all closed in and completed, as I've always thought that the stadium looked terrible.

This year they installed netting in all of the areas where bats were living, and removed all the guano. Thank Christ we don't have to deal with them anymore.

Can someone explain why his name is on the stadium?

there are actually coaches names on all four corners. It's been a bit controversial that Bryant was used but there is a lot of lore from his days at A&M. ESPN even made a movie of the Junction Boys and players that played for him have been a pretty integral part of our program for a long, long time (John David Crow, Jack Pardee, Gene Stallings). It's a bit strange to me but given our incredible lack of success between WWII and the end of Vietnam, the big money guys remember the Bryant years pretty fondly.

I think it looks awesome. Think we'll look back in 20 years and be damn glad we invited A&M into he conference.

Still hope we beat y'all's arse in TS. But until then, cheers

I was under the impression that none of the names the would go up on the four corners had been "officially" decided yet due to alot of bitching and moaning between the big cigars. Is that not true?

Actually not. I believe Homer Norton and Dana X Bible are the other two and one corner actually isn't a coach - it's E King Gill who is the 12th man. Slocum's name is already on the nutrition center in the football complex.

That was the last I heard as well. A few heads have been butted. The stadium design itself is official the cornerstone names are still in discussion. I do think we should have Bear on there though. He did ALOT for our program during the time frame he was here. Albeit the record might not speak to the amount of changes he incorporated.

Wouldnt really expect many non Aggies to understand and no I didnt mean that in a bad way.

it's probably true. All the renderings have the same names though

One of my favorite ESPN original movies, although I can't even really think of many other ESPN original non documentaries.
