As good of a team as 2011 LSU was, their offense wasn't anything to write home about. Their special team and defensive play was pretty much perfection incarnate though.

That's fair. The real difference between 2011 and the 2012 team is redzone and third and short efficiency. The 2011 team were elite at both of those categories. The 2012 team struggled mightily. LSU does not need more explosion to be better on offense. They need to score touchdowns this year where they got field goals, and they need to keep drives going by picking up those short yard situations. If they do that, everyone will think it is a fancy new scheme. It won't matter if they do the same types of things. It will look worlds different.

Fact is, if Dan Mullen walked into the Sugar Bowl with LSU's football team, Louisville would have never beat them.

It's funny when people start sentences with "fact is", and then go on to state their opinion

That, and Rueben Randle.

LSU had problems replacing him in 2012. Randle was the deep threat that made the defense pay for stacking the box. The 2011 offense was not spectacular, but they took advantage of 8 man fronts with single coverage on Randle.

We did not have a deep threat in 2012, and we were unable to take advantage of single coverage. Still pretty incredible at the year Jeremey Hill had considering he was running into 8, 9 sometimes 10 man fronts.

LSU's offenses were actually somewhat explosive from 2005-2007. I don't know what happened to LSU after 2007 but their offenses have been anemic ever since.

It starts with a couple guys named Ryan Perrilloux and Gary Crowton. I know it sounds pathetic to blame our problems on a quarterback that was dismissed 5 years ago, but we were forced to start 2 guys that never were ever going to be D1 quality QB's, and we failed massively on evaluating and recruiting QB's over the next couple of classes.

You guys seem to keep the same theme.

Miles is too low and Mullen too high.

It's true, the talent level at State just is not on par with the rest of the SEC and Starkville just isn't the destination of choice.

The people that put this list together said that Mullen did a better job at State than Miles did at LSU. I respect their opinion but it's slap in the face of my beloved Bulldogs. You win a national championship at one place and the other.... I guess State is just a dump that Saban, the Bear and Lombardi would suck.

Mullen should be lower but I am not ready to part ways. I truly "believe" he can figure this thing out given the right players! shite! Yeah, I said it. "I believe!"

not really. I can see their argument. you LSU fans just get pissy whenever anyone doesn't put LSU first. it's what you do. Les hasn't won a meaningful game since 2007 and never has without Saban's players. you have to take that into consideration.

sorry for the bump, but I felt this post is so retarded I can't even deal

TideSatchel, dude, why do you even post on this site? Do you EVER add anything of substance? Jesus, you might be the worst poster, not just out of Alabama fans, but literally the worst poster on secrant.com.
