Athlon 'Expert' Rankings of SEC Football Stadiums

What about ours makes it next to last? LSU has only played there once recently so i can understand that. Figured we'd be middle of the pack though

You're right 141. Reynolds looks super nice.
It easily rivals the upper half of SEC venues.
Can't wait to come up there one November.
Guess I was thinking of Little Rock maybe...

That Godfrey douche voted WBS 14th?

I know it's not the best, but 14th?

Honestly looks pretty good but I'd have to swap Mizzou and Ole Miss.

The whole expert thing stopped when they used Tim Brando

You beat us at tailgating. But yeah, our stadium is a lot nicer.

At one point, that might of been true. It's not true any longer. You guys get points taken off for the temp bleacher seats in the nosebleeds, and Tiger Stadium improved tremendously with the SEZ addition. The fans sitting up there have unmatched access to amenities...

Also, that our suites have both more seating and more space overall, our stands have more exits...which makes it easier to get to and from your seat, and we have more chair back seats overall. Add in the fact that the sidelines at Tiger Stadium are closer to the field than is true at RRS, and Tiger Stadium wins handily over Reynolds Razorback Stadium.

Tiger Stadium

Reynolds Razorback Stadium

Don't get me wrong, RRS is an amazing facility that is ahead of most of it's peers in terms of premium facilities and amenities. It was just designed badly from the start, with those curved sidelines so many stadiums in the SEC started with. The stadiums at Alabama, Auburn, South Carolina, and Georgia all share the same design flaw. Namely, you have an end zone worth of space at the fifty yard line, where the seats should be the best in the house. Yet they end up being as far away from the field as the end zone seats.

And since the sideline upper decks share the same curve as the lower bowl, the seats up there are all further from the field as well, compared to stadiums like Tiger Stadium, Ben Hill Griffin, and the new Kyle Field, where the sidelines run straight.

The fan experience is better at Tiger Stadium because the fans sit closer to the field, they can get to and from the seats easily, and they have more comfortable seats overall.

Win, win, win.

Anyone who has ever been to Neyland knows that stadium is not a top 4 stadium in our conference. It may (technically) seat over 100,000, but their seats are incredibly cramped and uncomfortable and the overall stadium design leaves a lot to be desired.

now if you only take into account the experience down by the water and the Vol Navy, then it is definitely top 4. Problem is, at some point you have to get into the stadium and that one isn't great.

Odd that Tiger stadium and Jordan Hare look almost identical, yet LSU gets voted higher in every one of these polls.

To those who have been to both, what are their differences ?

I've been there 7x and ALWAYS get stuck next to a fat person.

I think he was comparing us to Ole Miss, not LSU lol

We are taking off the temporary seats when we go to 80,000 though

The part of Neyland I sit in is very nice. If you are on one of the sides that hasn't been renovated yet I can see how you wouldn't like it inside though.

UGA should be ranked high for gameday experience and it's a decent enough and pretty large stadium, but I just don't get this.

Its the best GAMEDAY in the SEC outside of tailgating for an LSU night game. We have the best downtown by far. Watching the game from the bridge is amazing. Its set on campus amongst the trees and hills. The student center is across the bridge. I only give LSU higher because of their night games.

1. LSU

2. UGA

After 2015 its basically a race for 2nd. A&M already has the best fans. Soon it will have the largest & nicest stadium too.

IMO, this really has nothing to do with the stadium and more to do with the gameday atmosphere. They are not one in the same. I'm looking at the breakdown and 4 guys have the Swamp as 8th or worse, that is pretty ridiculous.

Seems about right. Until we close in Kyle Field, we won't be louder than Tiger Stadium. Once that happens we will be number one.
