Yeah but if you notice there is a huge difference between all the other statues and Sabans.
Well, I believe Saban's statue wasn't made by the same people that did the previous ones. He was probably also the only one to have an input on what his looks like.

Why do football players have statues anyway? They're only there for three, four years tops. And it's especially ridiculously for Cam to get a statue. He was there for one year. It would be like Anthony Davis getting a statue at Kentucky.

Outside of maybe a football complex or stadium it doesn't seem right unless there are very special circumstances warranting it (winning isn't enough imo). But keep in mind we only recently put up a statue of Neyland at the stadium and he was dead 50+ years before we did so. The only other one we have is Pat Summitt Plaza near TBA which under the circumstances only seemed right to put up while she was still alive.

If we were to be put up a statue of any athlete I'd want it to be because they did far more for the university or world than be good at their sport. But even putting one up in a complex or stadium kinda seems wrong unless we start putting up statues of students who excelled in their field, wrote the great American novel, won a Nobel or Pulitzer, became a respected entrepreneur and philanthropist etc. and soon we'd have statues everywhere.

Not really close to what I was talking about. Every one else's statues are historical. Sabans will be a few years after he retires but right now it's just a bronze blow job.

as much as I like the tiger statue, it would have been cool to implement a few different designs. iMO just looks like we got a great deal on bundling and thought "fuggit, let's just throw these all across the athletic facilities."

If it keeps him here an extra few years, I'm ok with it. He's met the only requirement we have. It's not like a winning percentage. Those 3 NCs will still be there if starts losing from here on out.

What's the story behind that statue anyway? It seems odd for some apartment complex to commission a life size statue of a college football play.
Did LSU commission the statue, notice it looked gay, and then could only dump it off on the apt complex who got it for a bargain?

Leave it to Tiger Manor to throw up a cheap arse statue
