Having the NCAA shine a spotlight up your arse is a great way to have your program burn down.
The OM people thinking they are gonna get a slap on the wrist are fooling themselves. They ought to check out what the NCAA just did to SMU basketball.

Hugh Freeze and his staff are doing nothing different in practice than Saban and his people did at Alabama when he first came in.....the boosters opened up their checkbooks. Except in the case of Ole Miss it was not the coach that excited the boosters it was the fact the right boosters were now in charge.
I could see in the case of Alabama alumni getting excited about Saban and recruits as well....he had a real pedigree with Michigan State, then LSU and a National Championship and time coaching in the pros. I really could never see the excitement of the Ole Miss boosters with the Freeze hire....who gets excited about one year at Arkansas State? If I were on a search committee I wouldn't have entertained a guy with one year of experience coaching at a lower mid major.
If I was a top recruit like Treadwell, I wouldn't be looking at Ole Miss over USC, Notre Dame, Michigan or Ohio State. If I'm Tunsil I certainly wouldn't be looking at Ole Miss over FSU, UF or UGA which are closer to Lake City. Not saying anything changed hands, but it is suspect.

right. You nailed it. B/c Saban HAD to cheat at Bama. he had no pedigree to sell. You're an idiot with no clue.
At every single REC meeting that is attended by ANYONE on the Bama coaching staff a statement very similar to this is made, "We appreciate all you do to support Alabama Athletics, but we do not need your help with recruiting. You're likely to do more harm than good, even if you have best of intentions."
Not saying Bama is squeaky clean b/c no SEC school - including LSU - can claim to be clean. I am saying that Bama doesn't have some coordinated cheating efforts from the top down.

Saw some star ole miss players playing the slots at the horseshoe in tunica. One player just walked up to a machine, stuck a card in, pulled the lever and BOOM: instant jackpot for 12k. An old man dressed in confederate regalia peered around the edge of the machine and winked at the star player

Ole Spice had guys so wired on spice they were jumping out of windows.
Freeze had to be ignoring the drug use. You have to question whether Faux Preacher is really concerned about player welfare.
That is worse than even paying the players and the fake ACT's.

Freeze has had multiple stints at OM.
When the NCAA imposes the punishment they won't hold back just because Freeze took over and he was only giving illegal inducements.
