this is what happened to Ole Miss in 1994 when they were charged with Lack of Institutional Control.

The beginning of the quote may be confusing as it is referencing the sentences from a separate investigation in 1986.

quote:

The Charges: In 1986, Ole Miss received a two-year ban from television appearances and the postseason as a result of major violations. However that penalty was reduced to one year due to the cooperation of university administration. That explains the extra bite from the Committee on Infractions when the school was again found guilty of similar violations six years later. The charges included impermissible recruiting, extra benefits, unethical conduct, and lack of institutional control. The Penalties: The charges and penalties were upheld on appeal, leaving the football program with four years of probation, a two-year ban from postseason play, scholarship reductions, and a television ban for the 1995 season.

I would think the punishment for the current charges will be at least equal to the 1994 charges.

My guess is 2 year post season ban. 20 scholly's over 4 years and 5 years of probation in addition to a very heavy show/cause charge on Freeze.

How they could allow a booster to give a Starkville kid a wad of cash while the whole world knew OM was under investigation and after the Tunsil fiasco is beyond me.

The Leo Lewis events may trigger harsher sentencing.

In my opinion, Ole Miss would be better off getting in front of this and cleaning house instead of trying to save face defending the people that allowed things to get as bad as they are.

Hugh Freeze, like Donald Trump, should probably delete his Twitter account too. I really think his next job will be back at high school coaching girls basketball.

Emmert was LSU's chancellor. He and Saban are tight from their LSU days. Bama and LSU won't be going down soon.

The NCAA is a lot less severe than they used to be. They've been brought down to Earth a bit over the last decade. It might be a severe pounding if they're trying to make the point that they're still relevant, but it could just as easily be a lot less painful. Hard to predict what they'll do in the wake of relative failures at Miami and Auburn.

South Carolina’s athletic department reported
nine involving the football team.

All but one of the infractions were classified as Level III and outlined by the NCAA as violations isolated or limited in nature
do not include more than a minimal impermissible benefit.

South Carolina released its infractions report

Most violations are far from those that bring splashy headlines and put schools on probation.

Again none of these things are of the nature of what is being discussed you dimwit.

But if we want to discuss what I'm LOL'ing at, here you go...

Aubbie pays people

Note this excert:

quote:

The most serious violation occurred in 2015-16, when a women's basketball assistant coach provided $150 to a player when "her family had a financial hardship."

Maybe the football bagmen at aubbie need to show the rest of the athletic dept how to dish out cash before the NCAA digs back up in that programs anus again.

I mean we can dig back and take a look cpt. chin's violations if you would like?

The NCAA doesn't care if you cheat. They only care if you suck at it.

When I posted the typical "Go to hell ole miss" before their LSU game this year, I never thought the coach and staff would take that to heart.

Sorry Ole Miss fans, I will be more careful with my postings next time.

Miami self imposed 2 yrs post season ban and self imposed scholarship reduction. Then NCAA conducted a 3yr investigation which after the NCAA fricked up worse than we did, they still ended up imposing 9 scholarship reduction over 3 yrs and 3yrs probation.

...All because a ponzi schemer let kids party on his yacht (In Miami this is nbd) and the biggest impermissible benefit they were able to prove at all was $1,200. And every member of the media was calling for the death penalty for us...again.

But in this case they have much more evidence, it isn't coming from a ponzi schemer in prison intentionally trying hurt the school, the school isn't self imposing too much, and most importantly the NCAA didn't use illegal means to acquire the info.

If this was Miami, Sports Illustrated would have already dropped their 3rd cover story on why we should drop football. But if I was an ole miss fan id be hoping for 2 yr post season ban and 20 scholarships over 3 yrs.

I know much more about the Miami "scandals" then you ever will....and that POS Shapiro.

Guilty as sin? NCAA has more one one Ole Miss recruit that didn't even attend the school than they did all the players combined in the Miami case.

This is what happens. This is what happens when you rub the NCAA nose in it.

That stupid Blind Side movie was the begining of the end. The NCAA knew the Michael Oher situation stunk. They couldn't pin anything down. And then a gotdamned movie was made that made the NCAA look like fools and the Tahhooeys look like saints. The Tahooeys became Ole Miss royalty and they let them pick the Michael Oher's head coach as the football coach. And that goof starts pulling top 5 recruiting classes out of his arse. Surounded by the Taco Bell gang. Of course Ole Miss was going to get nailed. The denial and shock from the Ole Miss fan base shouldn't come as a suprise, but it does.

Don't publicly humiliate the NCAA.

The shite going on at Miami was much worse than Ole Miss. The NCAA really doesn't have to prove anything. Hell, they had the guy that was throwing the money around flat out admitting it. If the NCAA hadn't conducted an unethical investigation, the U would have gotten the death penalty.

Might I remind Ole Miss the NCAA doesn't even follow their own rules when breaking them suits them. Fulmer was the secret witness in the Means case. Secret witnesses are against NCAA rules.

As much as I hate Miami, they were not going to give out the death penalty. That would be killing their golden goose. No TV bans either. There is too much money tied into college sports for that.

I can see the conferences punishing schools by withholding postseason revenue or TV rights revenue.

Best guess as to the sanctions.
1)2 year bowl ban. Should've jumped out front and self imposed your bowl ban about 6 weeks into the '16 season. Now you are looking at 3 years with no bowl.
2)The loss of 20-25 scholarships over a 3 year period.
3)The vacating of all wins during the investigated time period.
4)A show cause placed on the head of Mr. "Holier than thou Right Reverend" Hugh Freeze.
5) 4-5 year probation period.

Anyone that says the only reason the NCAA even looked at Ole Miss was because they beat BAMA back to back, is a fricking MORON!!!! Ole Miss got investigated because, an irrelevant former HS coach pulled in a 4-5 5* guys and a Top 10 class after the team failed to win a conference game in 2 years!!
